JinJin- Astro
It was dark out and raining. It felt late, but it was in fact early. The roads wet and empty except for the heavily drunken bums wandering the streets tripping over their own shoes. My bike, the only companion on this lonely morning, propelled me under the many lampposts still lit. Until I reached my destination, School. I woke up early for the express purpose of needing to study for the final exams. I studied all night, but I wanted to make sure I had it all before the exams started. I looked at my clock-bracelet to see I still had another half hour before the school officially opened. I leaned against the wall closest to the gate, my bike beside me. The loud music in my ears defeating the suffocating quiet of early morning. My index cards full of key terms were pulled out of my pocket. This was therapeutic for me, the music and studying. It made me numb to the harsh realities. I hummed slightly to the tune, a really 'angry' sound. I closed my eyes looking up at the rising sun through the buildings. This is what happiness felt like, not like in the cheesy movies where a simple touch by an attractive person would make you smile and your heart flutter. These were the real happy moments. Moments that would always be remembered. Movement in my peripheral vision caught my attention. It was only the security guard for the school, mr.Kim. I pulled my bike from the wall and walked into the front gate to the rack, on the left. My bag already shouldered, I walked in to change my shoes. Still with my earbuds in and music playing rather loud. I tripped on the way through the library doors, seeing an unexpected figure. A boy with bleached hair lying on one of the study tables. I walked towards him oddly curious as to why he was asleep on the table. As soon as I was close enough I poked his cheek. The only result was a groan from the boy and an odd feeling of wanting to poke the squishy cheeks again. I did many times. He never woke up, only groaning. I pinched his nose. His eyes shot open simultaneously with him sitting up. "Hi, I'm Kat." I stuck my hand in his face to shake. He blinked twice before firmly grabbing my wrist and introducing himself as JinJin. "So, can I ask you why you were sleeping here?" I asked still insanely curious. "I heard a really smart girl came early in the mornings to study..." He dead panned. "Ah, why are you looking for her?" I asked in response. "Because I can't seem to understand the lessons fast enough..." He said quite seriously. "Oh, so you want help then?" He nodded in answer to my question. "Ok, I'll give you help" I made up my mind. I mean my teachers always said if you could teach the lesson you knew it perfectly.
~3 hours later~
The bell rang signaling first period which meant math exam. I waved bye to the slow boy and headed to class. I guess cheesy movies were a bit right about the sudden heart fluttery feeling.
