CHAPTER:04 QUESTIONING LOYALTY

"Pictures of manik and some girls , kissing and holding hands , pictures of him having a relationship outside ours."

"Who had sent those pictures to you Alya?" Navya wondered and voiced out her doubt.

"I don't know and I don't really care, the pictures were enough evidence."

" What if the pictures were morphed, Alya? How can you be so stupid?" Nandini fumed in anger.

"I got them checked, I got them verified, Bhai helped me with that, One of his friends owns a photo studio."

" You believe Harshad? Like really, he used to bully me and he is one of the most dishonest people in the world."

"He was , Nandini, he was. He cares about me and can't see me hurt. I know he has done a lot of evil things in his life but he has changed , changed for good."

"I just can't believe this."

"Maybe he really has changed, Nandini, people change with time."

"You dont know him Navya."

" So you don't trust Harshad but you can trust Manik, whom you have never met. Are you serious Nandini?" Said Alya clenching her fist, digging her nails in her palm to let out her anger.

"Alya, i am just trying to understand the situation, I don't trust both of them, but you guys have been friends since childhood, if he had to cheat on you , he wouldn't have continued this relationship, don't you think?"

"Nandini, Manik is very ambitious and stubborn man, he gets what he wants and would never let anything ruin his friendship. He was the one who walked out on me without any explanation. He was the one who questioned my loyalty."

"Okay Alya, I am sorry. I promise you we will find a way to avenge your pain."

Nandini was stuck in a dilemma. She knew something wasn't right but she couldn't pinpoint it. She knew Alya was to be blamed somewhere too. If he had questioned her loyalty hadn't she done the same. But for now all she wanted was to help her friend move on , either by hook or by crook.

After finishing their dinner, Alya straight away went to bed leaving Navya and Nandini to think about what ifs and what nows.

" What are we gonna do Nandini?"

"We are going to get jobs."

"Huh?"

"In Malhotra Industries. Hope your resume is updated?"

The next few days passed by in the preparation of the job interviews and finding new house for their new motive.

During this time, they became so aware about their new found freedom they had got, living their lives away from chaos and bad past. Living a life away from the shattered dreams and hopeless hollow promises that they had centered themselves around the mystery of solace and the idea of revenge.

"Navya, pass me my bag, I need to verify the documents and my resume."

"Miss Nandini Murthy, for the last time I am telling you to not speak while you are eating." Nandini's mother commanded.

"Nandini, you have gone through your documents a zillion time and they are spot on. You don't need to worry."

Nandini just nodded and continued eating. Today was they day of their interviews and from what she had heard, it wasn't an easy task to get a job in that company, too many strict rules and a proper education was required. She had majored in Music and Fashion  in her bachelor's degree but had Masters in finance and fashion. While Navya had always Majored in Business Management along with Music. If they won't get the job, they would be screwed because that was the starting of their plan. Their not so foolproof plan.

Malhotra Industries 

" I need a complete bio of all the people selected for the interview. I don't want a single mistake , the post of a finance manager for our new fashion line is very demanding." Manik kept on barking orders to his poor secretary who furiously typed all the instruction's on his pager.

"I will get the file in 30 minutes , sir." the secretary quickly slammed the door shut after a nod of approval from Manik.

Today was a very crucial day for the company , Malhotra industries had launched a new fashion line, a completely different venture from their earlier works and today they would finally complete the team with the addition of a finance manager. alongside of the manager interview was also an interview for the treasure for the joint venture of his company with his best buddy Cabir Dhawan .

*An hour later*

Almost 15 people were settled in the conference room with their resume in their hand, some fiddling with the hem of their shirts, some practicing their lines , while two girls sat eerily quite in the room full of chaos, Nandini and Navya were as calm as the ocean on a bright summer morning, they both were confident and had the aura of a powerful woman.

Soon the names were called for a private interview and the nervousness started to build up. Soon Navya's name was called.    

"All the best Navya , remember that no matter what motive we have, you are going to get the job. You have a great college degree and the smartness, you are gonna rock it."

With the final parting words, Navya confidently entered the room and answered the required set of questions. while Navya was inside, Nandini was called inside too. the interview ended in an hour or so and both headed to a nearby tea stall to relax before the went back home.

Sometimes the purpose behind our actions drains our energy along with our soul , it consumes us within. both the girls knew nothing about their fate, just going with the flow , going along their plan. this interview is the first step but the only step that could make or break things. 

"trust is everything to me, love is secondary. I believe if there is trust, there is love.
Trust is everything in a relationship "
