Chapter 1

I remember that first night clearly...

-The white wash walls, plain white door with a small barred window at the top, the metal bed with an extremely thin battered mattress. A small white hospital dress, waiting for me.

This was clearly the west wing - for the psychos basically. The west wing had the padded cells, the horrifying surgery rooms. Although the asylum was fairly new, it looked centuries old, the walls were loosing their coats of paint to the dusty, wooden floors. It was clear that the west wing was not cleaned properly and obviously abused in care.

As for the east wing, it was spectacular, with huge recreation rooms. Big, modern canteens were patients with minor issues could enjoy a warm, or cold meal. The huge library with book shelves that towered over everybody. Books that dated back to the early 1900s, every genre imaginably. The east wing patients lived a good life, as they took their medication and dealt with their issues well. However; it was a rumor that west wing patients weren't always treated with the care they needed. They had the more 'difficult' issues, meaning many of the nurses and doctors working there didn't want to put up with the endless hassle.

"Alright, you will be staying in here for a while, Frau Arlovskaya." The German doctor said quietly, undoing the handcuffs they had placed on my wrists, and pushing gently. So, that I'd go into the small 'cage'. Once he locked the door, I spun around quickly, peering through the metal, barred window at the top of the wooden door. Giving the coldest glare, I cursed in my native tongue, knowing he would not understand at all, which amused me dearly.

"Now, Frau Arlovskaya, my name is Dr.Beilschmidt, I will be your main Doctor whilst you are here. I will be the one bringing your medication, sorts your essential needs; like bed sheets, clean clothes and I'll be making sure you get to talk to others as well. That is if you cooperate and behave well."

My fists were clenched, but he couldn't see it. How dare they take me away from my big brother Ivan, I needed him, and they took me away. This was down-right unacceptable, I wasn't going to stay in this  place, taking their demonic medications.-

It had been almost 2 years since that day, I was still stranded in the asylum. You'd think I would've taken my medication and left by now.

No.

I hadn't taken it once, everytime they left the pills in a plastic cup for me, I made sure I spent at least ten minutes on each pill, grinding it down to tiny particles.

They weren't going to win, and I wasn't prepared to lose.
