You see after Sofia's dad died, her mother met this man. David. Or David the devil as Sofia would call him. He would do things to her. She said that he would turn into a monster at night....after a few drinks.

He would verbally abuse her. Call her names. Make her feel worthless. He would say things like 'I'm sure your dad killed himself. Anyone would if they had you as a daughter'. Then Sofia said that if she was a 'bad' girl he would punish her so he would..he would-
