Chapter 29: Family

Finn's POV

I knocked on my parents door, god its only been a couple months not being here yet it feels like I've been gone for years.

I heard murmurs from the other side of the old brown door when the door knob began to wiggle signaling someone was opening it.

It was my mom.

Me- Hey mom! I said happily and hugged her.

Mom- Oh my baby's home! She said squeezing me tightly.

As I walked in, I smelt the familiar smell. I'm not able to describe it but it smells like home..

Burt- Hey kid!

Me- Hey Burt. I said fist bumping him with a smile.

"Is that Finn?!" I heard someone familiar squeal out.

She walked into the living room where I was.

I looked at her, many, many memories rush back.

Me- Kasey. I said looking into her emerald green eyes.

Rachel's POV

Santana- I wish mom and dad were you know- I cut her off.

Me- San, I do to but we can't keep dwelling on that.

Santana- How can't we? They were our parents Rachel.

Me- Please Santana not now. I said as I pulled up to Quinn's house.

Santana- Rachel, we can't just ignore the fact that our parents aren't ever gonna see you or me graduate college, or even have kids or get married!

I felt uneasy, I wanted to breakdown I hate talking about this.

Me- Santana no more! I yelled.

As I opened my side of the door to get out.

I quickly wiped my eyes as I heard the front door open.

I got down on my knees as Beth ran to me with open arms.

Me- Hey Beth! I said hugging her.

Me- It's so nice to see you Uncle Jason and Aunt Mary.

I said giving them each a hug.

So far my grandparents and my aunt and uncle on my mom's side were here. Later on a family friend Illiana was coming over as well as more family.

I sat down in front of my grandparents as Santana, Quinn, and Uncle Jason and Aunt Mary were in the kitchen preparing lunch.

Grandma Lisa- So how's NYADA been Rachel? She asked taking a sip of her tea.

Me- Oh grandma it's been amazing!

Grandma Lisa- I suppose you have a story. She said with a smile.

Me- I have plenty. I said with a big smile.

Me- Oh and then Finn took me to a- Grandpa Frank cut me off.

Grandpa Frank- Who's Finn darling?

I blushed.

Me- Grandpa Finn is my uh..boyfriend and my ..roomate.

Grandma Lisa- Oh Rachel you have boy roomate?! How scandelous. She said with a smirk.

Grandpa Frank- I don't know how I feel about this Finn. He said studying my face.

Grandma Lisa- Oh ignore him. She said slapping his shoulder.

Grandma Lisa- Go on sweetie.

Me- So Finn two weeks ago he took me to LA to see a Dodgers game. And I met this lady..it's very hard to describe her. She was so sweet she's a little old but just something about her just- Grandma cut me off.

Grandma Lisa- Oh what is this spectacular lady's name? She asked intrested?

Me- Ella.

Grandma Lisa- Does she have a last name? She asked with a giggle.

Me- Ella Steinfield.

Grandma set her cup of tea down and stood up as I scrunched my eyes.

Grandma Lisa- You may never talk to that lady again do you hear me!

I stood up confused as Grandpa held my hands.

Me- Why? Grandma grandpa what's going on?

Grandpa Frank- Rachel.. Ella Steinfield she- shes your father's mother.

I gasped.

Me- No, no she can't be. Dad said grandma's name is Kayla, Kayla Lira and she's dead!

Grandpa Frank- He lied to you..when your dad when he was younger his mother Ella, she was a drug addict as well as an acholic. She was never around but when your father did meet her at age 20 she didn't want anything to do with him.

Grandpa Frank- He tried to help her by taking her to rehab but she just took the money he gave her to buy more drugs..

Tears streamed down my face as the truth about Ella Steinfield was revealed.
