"Dad?" The boy called out through the crowd of people. He had been brought to this circus by his father, which was crowded with strangers, and yet the boy saw no sign of him. Tears escaped from the toddlers eyes as he walked around for what seemed like forever.
He began looking around frantically, searching for his father, until he bumped into something, toppling backwards.
"Hm? What is your name little fruit?" A boy asked, who couldn't have been more than sixteen, his appearance was strange, he had pastel pink hair, his body was thin and lanky, and he was chewing bubble gum. The younger one assumed he must've been one of the performers.
"I'm Gon, have you seen my dad?" The boy wiped the tears out of his eyes.
"Not that I know of. But I know a place where you can stay, my friend Illumi has a big castle, he can surely take you in little fruit," the teenager suggest.
"O-Okay..." Gon trails off, unsure of whether he should trust the older boy.

Years past as the Gon grew up, Hisoka, who he had learned the boys name to be, visited every once in a while.
By the age of six, Gon was treated as a servant for the Zoldyck manor.
His main job was to take care of the guard dog, Mike, since the family had learned he was good with animals. He was trained hard to defend the family that he owed himself to. Without them, he would have stayed on the streets.
The household was quite a strange one. The Zoldyck's had 5 children. Each one of them completely different than the other.
The middle child always talked to him when they had the chance. Maybe Gon was intrigued by his snarky attitude, or maybe it was his silver hair and blue eyes that both were so bright; either way, Gon knew he liked the boy.
"Hey, Gon?" Killua asked one day when they had both snuck out of their rooms.
"Huh?" Gon looked at the boy through the corner of his eyes as the other states at the night sky.
He sighed, "Do you have anything you really wanna do?"Gon laughed, "I guess so, I mean, doesn't everyone?"
"Yeah, but what is it?" Killua was curious now.
"I guess I would want to meet my parents, you know?" Gon sighed, "I don't remember anything, aside from a tall man. It would be nice to find out about my past. To know who I actually am."
But did Gon actually want to know? When he grew up around Killua's parents, who made a living off killing others? What if his parents were like that?
Gon brushed off the thought, "What about you?"
Killua thought silently for a moment, then slowly answered, "Do you remember when I was gone for that period of time a few years ago? When I was at the Heavens Arena?"
"Yeah," Gon looks at the boy, wondering just what it was he wanted.
"Well, I hear there's these people called hunters. They have to take a test and apparently it's really hard. I really want to know what it's like to become a hunter." Killua looks up at the starry sky.
"Maybe we could do it," Gon looks at the pale boy, "We could go and become hunters. I could look for my parents. We could leave this place and do both."
"Are you serious?" Killua's mouth drops.
"Yes, I am. We can do it tomorrow!" Gon sits up.
"We'll get in a lot of trouble, you know," the silver haired child sighs.
"Who cares? We can deal with that later. We will leave tomorrow night. Meet me here at 3 am."
"Okay, but if we get caught, we are so dead..." Killua trails off.
