Aden's pov

I was sitting at the elders' table, when that same heavenly scent I smelled all those weeks ago. My demon started to take control, ever since I'd rejected her, I'd been finding ways to fight him off. I did my best not to look in her direction, but a little bit later I felt a familiar gaze burning a hole into the side of my head. After a few minutes I finally faced the gaze.

I made sure that my eyes held no recognition or emotion. I needed to be empty. To let her see that I didn't care about her. So she could move on. She needed to move on. I only wish that I could too.

Chandranath's pov

I was listening to the head elder thanking us for coming and saying why we were here. It was apparently supposed to be some kind of check up. I was starting to doze off when I felt Ash's hand squeeze mine.

I looked at her face to see what was wrong. Her usual tan and fair complexion was as pale as a hungry vamps. I was about to ask her what was wrong when the door busted open and a man came running in.

"Elder, sir. We found your son!" The man screamed. The elders' faces grew paler by the seconds, as the man caught his breath.

"Well spit it out what's wrong with my son?"

"He's dead sir. He was killed by a...... vampire."

Everything was deathly silent. War was to come. I could feel it.
