Reader's POV

My eyes are bright and excited as I lift myself from bed. Today's the day I start training as an official member of Overwatch.

I walk down the stairs to the lounge, which is more like a large entertaining room. Upon entering, I realize I hadn't quite acquainted myself with everyone on the team. It's pretty scary to think about the amount of people whom I had not yet met.

As I reach the bottom of the stairs, two men, one tall and thin, the other taller and not so thin, make their way toward me. I try my best to stand up straight in an attempt to make myself look a little larger amongst the 6+ foot men. The thin man grins at the obvious and failed attempt.
"'Ello mate, I'm Junkrat. You can call me Jamie if y'like. This here is m'buddy Roadhog. You can call 'im Mako," he says, and points to his masked friend. Mako grunted in response.
An awkward smile is plastered across my face. "H-hi," I whimper, voice faltering slightly.
"I've'nt seen y' round here before. What's your name, sheila?" Jamie asks, cocking his head slightly and somehow ignoring my shaky voice.
I mumble my name quietly in embarrassment.
"What was that, love?" Jamie says, leaning in, and my eyes widen at how close he is.
"Oh, uh.. Sorry, it's (y/n)." I blush and shift a little when he doesn't move away.
Immediately he laughs and steps back. "Sorry love, didn't mean to startle ya. We'll see you around," he says, and walks away, Roadhog in tow. As they leave, Mako says something to Jamie, who laughs and says, "No way, mate. Hanzo's been watchin' her like a hawk, and you know what hawks do to rats."
Who's Hanzo?

I decide to consult Morrison. He's the one who invited me to be a part of the Overwatch community, so I trust him for information and advice. I walk up to him with as much false confidence as I can muster. He stares down at me, standing tall and proud as always. I look up to Morrison, both figuratively and literally; figuratively for his confidence and strength. I smile and wave, hoping he's smiling too behind the mask.
"Hello, soldier," he says.
"Do you know anything about Hanzo?" I ask.
"I know about all of the Overwatch agents." He replies.
I rock on my feet and chew my bottom lip, looking up hopefully at him.
"No," He says, realising my game plan.
"Please? I just wanna know a little bit about him," I say, practically begging.
He sighs. "I guess if you're going to be an agent, you need to at least know the team. Talk to him yourself."
My shoulders drop in disappointment. "Where is he?" I mumble.
"Straighten up, solider," He barks, startling me into compliance.
"He's over there," he says, and almost points with his nose in a sort of nod. I follow the direction of the nod to a couch in the corner, where a tired but kind looking man with dark hair and dark eyes is reading a thick book. His entire left arm is tattooed and, let's be honest here, he's pretty attractive.
Morrison's voice snaps me back to attention: "Why the sudden interest?"
"Classified," I say grin, and salute him. I turn on my heel and head in his direction. As I'm leaving, I hear a small chuckle come from behind me and smile.

Keeping a safe distance from him, I lean against a wall and take my phone out and absentmindedly scroll through it. I can see Hanzo staring at me from the couch in my peripheral vision. Not wanting to be awkward, I turn and my eyes meet his. Both of ours widen and he turns away. I continue to watch, and he sets his book down. I take this as an opportunity and plop down on the couch, leaving a space between us. He looks over at me, surprised.
"Hi, I'm new here, and I don't really know anyone here but you look nice so here I am. You're Hanzo, right?" I say quickly, not wanting to look weird. In hindsight, this wasn't a very good idea; I didn't really have a plan for this conversation when I started it. He still looks surprised.
"Hello," he says awkwardly. I feel bad, not meaning to put him in an awkward position but I suppose there's not much I can do about it now. "Yes, I am Hanzo."
My eyes wander across his face quickly. His eyes are a dark chocolate sort of brown, and they almost glowed when I said his name. Somehow this makes me more comfortable than when I sat down on this couch to begin with. I feel warmth rise to my face and my smile widens.
"I'm (y/n), nice to meet you," I say, and he takes my hand and kisses it gently.
"Such a pretty name... It suits you," he says softly. I'm sure my cheeks are tomatoes at this point.
"Th-thanks," I respond dumbly. He smiles at me flirtatiously. I guess this is what Jamie meant when he said Hanzo was looking at me. There's butterflies in my stomach as realize I'm just staring him down. Quickly, I attempt to think of what to say.
Jeez, (y/n), he'll probably think you're weird if you don't say something. Talk to him, you idiot!
"I.. You're pretty too?" I blurt out and immediately regret all life decisions.
His eyebrows knit in confusion and he mutters a hesitant, "Thanks..?"
"I mean.. I meant.. um, I.." I stutter and bury my face in my hands. "Training round starts in 5, anyone who'd like to participate meet up at the simulator ASAP," Morrison's voice echoes throughout the large room. Both Hanzo and I get up, but I scoot away quickly, thankful for the cover. I walk to the gates the long way in an attempt to avoid talking to Hanzo for a bit. I make it into the room as my teammates are splitting into teams. I quickly join the team without Hanzo, but my eyes travel to him without meaning to anyway. He looks over to me and smiles. I smile back quickly and then look away. We're all suited up and ready for a practice run-through of Gibraltar. I'll be learning the role of a sniper
Athena provides the countdown:
"Three. Two. One."
The gates open.
"Attack objective A."
Getting to high ground as quickly as I could, I set up kinda close to to enemy spawn, but this side of the map is pretty empty. I turn to leave, but there's someone there. I take cover behind a wall and prepare to shoot. I jump out from behind and realize that it was only Hanzo, bow on the ground and hands in the air.
"We're on opposite teams, what are you doing?!" I shriek at his recklessness.
"You didn't shoot me."
"Of course not!"
"What if I were someone else?"
"I would have tried to shoot you, duh."
He smirks at this. I set down my gun and remember our previous interaction, causing me to inwardly cringe.
He probably notices, because he says, "About earlier: Don't worry about it, you were probably just a bit flustered. I don't blame you, so many people at once can be intimidating." He says gently. I smile and look down again. As soon as the blush feels like it's gone away enough, I look back up at him. He tucks a stray piece of hair behind my ear with a kind smile on his face. Everything about him is so charming.
Suddenly I hear footsteps nearby and my eyes widen. I push Hanzo back and out of sight, falling flat on top of him and putting a silencing finger to my lips. The footsteps disappear and I exhale in relief, looking down to see Hanzo blushing brightly. I stare, confused, and then remember the position we're in.
"Oh jeez, sorry, I didn't mean to.." I look away but for some reason don't move.
Why aren't I moving, damnit? (y/n), get it together!
Before I can begin to get up, his hand is on the back of my head and our lips collide. My lips move more eagerly on his than I had intended. He tastes like cherries and honey. He pulls away and looks me in the eyes "I like you. A lot. I know we just met, but I would like to be more than friends with you." We both sit up and he pulls me into his lap. "Oh, Hanzo, you know I'd love t-"
A bomb of paint hits me in the back, making me gasp and cutting me off. I turn around and see Junkrat grinning like an idiot. Facing Hanzo again, I watch him squint dangerously at Junkrat, and he backs away, hands up.
He shouts behind him as he blasts himself off the roof: "Called it!"
Hanzo turns back to me, giving me lots of little pecks on my lips and cheeks.
"I love you," he says in-between kisses. I blush and bite my lip. I barely know him, but it still feels right. I kiss him properly on the lips right as Athena announces a victory.
"I love you too."
