"Congratulations Zöe!" My friends cheered for me. It wasn't really a big deal to be quite honest, getting a raise in Walgreens that is, but we just needed an excuse to go out and celebrate. It's been a while since we all had the time to be reunited, since our jobs were keeping each of us busy, it was good finally seeing their faces again."Thank you guys," I laugh at how ridiculous they were being, " even though, this isn't a big deal."
"Of course it is!" My friend Ezekiel exclaim. He was someone who always had a positive energy, which was good to be hang around to when you're having a good time.
"For Walgreens?" I raised my eyebrows at him.
"It means more money." He tried to explain, but I shook my head because we both knew this wasn't a real reason to celebrate. I chuckled at his pouting expression.
My eyes were dancing around the room, watching everyone that was eating, I always did this when I'm outside, looking around my surroundings and trying to find something to settle my eyes in and just day dream. When my eyes landed on a girl honey eyes, her hair was black and really wavy, she has a hipster kind of vibe. She was seating at a table with a guy who was really buff, and it pretty much looked like he could break anything that was around him with one touch.
"Huh?" I mumbled as I watch the girl meet my gaze and suddenly watched a smirk form on her face, she then winked at me when her date wasn't looking at her. My face felt hot and I immediately looked away.
What is wrong with me? She obviously was in another date with a guy, so why was she winking at me? Was it to tease me? Or to try to provoke a reaction from me? I didn't know the answer to those questions so I stayed confused as I try to sneak a glance at her again.
"Are you okay?" My friend Josie asked me, she looked at me with a confused face when she looked around and her eyes landed on the girl I was looking. She looked back at me with a mischievous glint on her face.
"Never mind." She smiled at me then, went to talk back to Ezekiel. I shook my head and began to look down my drink.
I didn't want to glance up, I didn't want to look at her, but I want to do so badly. There was this pull, this attraction that I just couldn't resist.
"Really?" I heard her voice, making me shift nervously around my chair. She was making it harder for me to concentrate in the conversation with my friends when all I wanted to do was look at her.
Sneakingly I gave her a short glance, but before I could pull myself to look away I caught her eyes. She looked at me with a glint in her eyes, she then waved at me; making my eyes go wide and I looked side ways making sure that it was me she was waving at.
'Me?' I mouthed to her, she then nodded but went back to her date. As if she hasn't addressed me at all.
"Who are you talking to?" My friend Ashely asked me, but I quickly shook my head and told her nothing.
Fuck, I was losing my mind for a girl I barely know. Fantastic. Top of it all she was its another guy, trying to flirt with me, which gave the vibe that this girl wasn't much of a committed type of girl.
It was hard for me to try to go out of my way to date other girls, when I'm trying to stay under radar. I'm out to all of my friends, except for my parents, but sometimes by the way I keep things to myself it seems like I'm still in the closet.
For the rest of the night I try to ignore her presence, even though I could feel her gaze on me for the whole entire night. From the corner of my eyes I noticed her and the guy get up and leave, when they pass our table, she sneakily place a piece of paper on my side of the table.
I looked at her back with wide eyes as my hand covered the white piece of paper. This is really happening?!?
