Looking up from her bedroom window she saw a star shining brightly down at her in the dark ridden sky.
It seemed to be calling out to her, seeking attention and love from prying eyes. It twinkled happily right at the moment she looked at it as if to say, 'Yes! She finally noticed me.'
It was an average star, not any different or special from the countless other one's she usually stares at every night since she had last seen him.It was light years away and even though there was the tiniest possibility that it could have been dead for centuries now it's bright light never seemed to fade. It remained strong and persistent in the everlasting darkness hoping that one day it will eventually fade into nothing and fall into a peaceful silence.
It was only one little star in the entire galaxy but it was just as important as the billion others that rested up there in the sky with their own stories.
She knew that he would be looking at the beautiful stars as well just like she is, after all they had promised to think of each other every time they looked at them. It would be as if they were together staring at them together, it would be as if nothing had ever changed. She let out a sigh closing her eyes and smiling at the thought.
He might be light years away from her and he may be looking at a different star but they'll always share the same sky.
