One that same cold night, in the town square lies a old church. If you happen to walk by the church that faithful night you could make out the sound of someone humming. Inside the bell tower sat a beautiful woman with cherry red hair and sapphire eyes that sparkled in the moonlight. She was wearing a simple maiden dress that was the same color of her hair. Only this wasn't no ordinary maiden because she had big, dazzling light pink wings attached to her back that sparkled when they moved and in her hand was a wand. She was a fairy godmother of love and good luck, Tikki. Tikki suddenly started singing out loud in the night with a angelic voice

"Amour chassecroise, J'ai peur d'aimer pour rein"

"Meow"

Out of nowhere, a black cat suddenly appeared right beside Tikki. It had luminous green eyes and a green collar with a little golden bell that tinkled with the cat's every move.

Most people would have kicked or shooed the cat away but Tikki knew this wasn't any ordinary unlucky black cat.

"Oh, Hello kitty, I thought you were to busy causing mischief to come"

"Come now Tikki. Surely you know me better than that. After all this time, you still doubt my integrity? I am hurt."

The black cat was suddenly replaced by a man in a fancy looking black tux with a green tie and top hat to match. He still had those luminous green eyes but instead of fur he had jet black hair and beard too, though it was groomed well. He had a black walking cane with a sparkling emerald on top. His wings were so black that in the moonlight, they gave off a green glow. His name was Plagg, the fairy godfather of mischief and bad luck. Oh and he was Tikki's best friend slash lover.

Tikki giggled at his comment and said,

"Don't play coy Plagg, I know your handiwork when I hear it. London had to rebuild a bridge and deal with a runaway gingerbread man."

Plagg had a knack for causing mischief and chaos everywhere he went but would never hurt a soul. Tikki was the opposite, she brought good luck to those who were feeling sad and helped young maidens find love and happiness.

"Nothing more than a little harmless fun. But you weren't exactly subtle yourself, my little bug. You managed to marry of two maidens and a prince while we were apart!"

Plagg sat down next to Tikki to discuss why they were here in the first place.

"Which brings us to why we are both here now."

"You know as well as I do. Our chosen's fates will intertwine and trigger a change in this generation."

"Indeed. So who has caught your eye. I am quite curious."

Tikki smiled as she remembered seeing the maiden in town bringing cookies to her friends.

"At first glance, she seems like the simplest of girls, but anyone can feel her joy and warmth! Everyday she faces the world with a bright smile. She works hard and always lends a helping hand to those around her. She cares and loves so deeply."

Tikki then frowned she remembered how upset the girl can be at times.

"But that's also her weakness. She does not hate nor burden others, even when the tears are too heavy. She has resigned herself with what little solace she could find. She holds on to happy memories and dreams."

Plagg was stunned and couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor girl.

"Your chosen are always full of heart. It amazes me every time."

Tikki gave Plagg a warm smile then replacing it with a playful smirk that he always had on.

"And what about yours? I remember you had a knack for troubled youths."

Plagg quickly put his smirk back on and remembered his chosen that day.

"A young man of noble birth. He is the ideal prince; kind, loyal, brave, and always ready to help. He cares about his kingdom and never shirks his duties. There is no doubt that he would make a great king."

Plagg then remembered how sad the boy had been when his mother died at a young age, how his life turned from sunny and happy to dark and sad. His father became distant and cold after that and locked his son up in the palace to keep him safe.

"But beneath all that is simply a lonely boy. The king to concerned about the kingdom's future and image to care about his son as a father. The boy only wants his father's love so he obeys with the hope of gaining it one day. He has resigned to live a life with no free will."

Tikki was surprised. This is the first time that Plagg has ever chosen a good troubled youth instead a criminal.

"Well then Plagg shall we get to work?"

"I thought you'd never ask, Tik Tok."

Tikki groaned at the nickname and flew of into the night. Plagg on the other hand was praising himself with victory at Tikki's reaction. He transformed into a cat and stalked of toward the palace.
