I woke up to the sun gleaming through my eyelids. I looked at the clock on the dashboard and realized that it was two o'clock in the afternoon. We had been on the road for seven hours already. I looked over at Lucas to see that he was having a heated conversation with somebody over the phone. "I got to go, Karenna is awake." He said in a demanding voice and slamming his finger down on the red button in anger. I yawned and stretched out my arms, "What was that all about?" I asked looking in his direction while rubbing my eyes.

"Nothing that you need to worry about." He said in a frustrated voice.

"What has your knickers all in a twist?" I asked with a laugh while turning to look out of the window. He just huffed and turned up the radio, pretty much telling me to shut up and go back to sleep. He should know by now that I am not that obedient. I turned the radio back down so that I could speak to him, "Can we stop and get something to eat?" I asked looking over at him and clasping my hands together in a begging motion.

He chuckled a little and answered, "Yeah sure, I have to piss anyways."

"Ugh, T-M-I." I laughed and turned my head to look back out of the window. Soon enough we stopped at a nearby McDonalds and I ordered while he went to the bathroom. I sat at a booth and waited for him to return from the bathroom. I wonder what has him so frustrated? It is really bugging me to not know what is going on with him. I'll get some of my people to tap his phone lines later so I can listen in on all of his conversations.

As soon as he walked out of the bathroom our order number was called and he went over to the counter to retrieve it. He had a smile on his face as he walked back over to the table. He sat across from me, which gave him a view of the front door while I had a view of an old couple sitting in the corner of the restaurant snacking on apple pies and chatting. I clapped my hands as my mouth watered while looking at the artery-clogging food. I quickly dug in while Lucas hadn't moved an inch. He was on his phone. What could be so damn important!? My frustration grew.

"What are you doing?" I asked trying to peer over and look at his screen. I'm such a nosey person.

He quickly pulled his phone closer to himself and glared at me, "None of your business!" He practically yelled. Most of the people in the restaurant turned their heads and stared at us. This is embarrassing.

"What is your problem!?" I whisper yelled while glancing around at all of the people staring at us, "You are causing a scene!" I was starting to get fed up with his attitude and secrecy. We rarely kept secrets from each other, except for the part about me still being in Ravenous, that was a necessary secret to keep. I rubbed my face with my hands before looking back into his enraged eyes. He shook his head and looked out of the window before his face turned deathly pale.

"We have to go. Now." He said, putting emphasis on "Now". I looked out of the window as well to see three very built men covered in tattoos making their way towards the door to the restaurant. They sort of look like the three guys that I killed this morning. I moved my hand down to touch my side and found a sense of relief when I realized that my gun was still there on my hip. How I slept with that pressing into my side? I don't know. I looked over to see that Lucas had started to get up and throw our food away, he hadn't even touched any of his! I grabbed the tray and placed it back down onto the table and started eating again. These men weren't going to stop me from eating, that was for sure.

"What the hell!? We have to get going! Those men are going to kill us!" He whisper yelled at me with fury and fright in his eyes.

"They aren't going to kill us. Shut up, sit down, and eat your food." I demanded. He finally looked at me with a confused expression on his face and slowly sat back down into his seat without another word. I sighed and quickly finished off the rest of my burger before starting to work on my fries. I heard to door to the restaurant open and I took in a deep breath. I felt Lucas' eyes burning into my face. I finally looked up to see his confused expression. What better time to tell him that I was still in the gang then right now? Right....?

I looked in the reflection of Lucas' sunglasses on the table and realized that I had a perfect view of the three men that just walked in. They were surveying the area as if they were looking for somebody, and by the look on Lucas' face, they were probably looking for him.... or both of us. They started to walk towards us. I assessed all of their stances and noticed that two out of the three had guns. The third one had a knife in his front pocket, I guess he is a newbie. Gangs usually don't trust the newbies with guns so they give them pocket knives, that is if they are even in a gang. I have a feeling that they are though. The first one to reach our table casually slid into the booth next to Lucas. The second one to arrive did the same thing but slid in next to me. The third guy stood at the end of the table with his buff arms crossed against his chest. The one with the pocket knife was the one standing. I felt something poking at my side and judging by Lucas' gasp, he did too. It was a gun. They were 9 millimeter pistols, judging by the way the tip of it felt, pressed into my side.

"Leave with us now, very quietly." The guy next to me whispered in my ear. I nodded and we slowly started sliding out of the booth. They didn't take Lucas back with me, they sat there as we walked out and the other guy took the seat where I was previously sitting. As soon as we got outside, the guy made me walk in front of him as he pressed his gun into my back.

"Do you know why my men and I are here?" He asked while leading me to the back of the building. I shook my head and kept walking.

"Well, your brother has been a very bad person lately. He joined our gang and then three months into his being with us he called the cops and got our warehouse raided. We thought he was a snitch but boss man told us to give him a chance." I was shocked. Where was I when all of this was going on? My captor was very cocky, that could be used to my advantage.

"I've heard of some gangs around the Indiana area. There have been rumors about one called Ravenous, I think?" I said, making my voice crack to make myself seem innocent.

"Oh yeah, they're real. We actually just put their boss man in the hospital." He laughed. When did they put Gill in the hospital? I soon realized that I never checked my phone after I woke up. My urge to fight just got a lot stronger, but I still had to find some insight on who these people are working for and what their gang is called.

"Why are you telling me all of this?" I asked while looking up at him.

"Because I am just going to end up killing you anyways." He maniacally laughed and shook his head.

"Well, since you're going to kill me, can you tell me what your gang is called?" I said as he instructed me to sit down on a bench behind the building.

"I really shouldn-, well what the hell? Why not, right?" He asked while laughing again. "We call ourselves Rapacious."

"That's a very interesting name, where did it come from?" I asked with an innocent face of genuine curiosity.

"Oh it's nothing, Harold came up with-", He stopped midsentence and went pale faced, "Ah shit, I guess I have to kill you earlier than I had planned." He sighed and pulled the gun up so that it was level with my forehead. I jolted my hand up and grabbed the gun out of his grasp. I used all of my weight and adrenaline to punch him right between the eyes. He stumbled and fell to the ground. I threw his gun to the side and pulled mine out since his didn't have a silencer. I aimed right at his forehead and pulled the trigger. His body went limp as it laid out on the ground. I searched his pockets and everything before hitting the jackpot. I pulled his phone and wallet out of his front pocket. I looked at his phone as soon as it lit up with a message. It was from some guy named Jeremy, "Tell me when you are done out there so that I can bring out the other kid." Good thing you don't have to unlock the phone to reply because I replied to the message saying it was all clear and that he could come out. Not long after that message sent I heard the door to the restaurant open and some male voices.

I readied myself on the side of the building so that they couldn't see me. I had to concentrate on measuring how far away their voices were. Ten feet. Nine feet. Eight feet. Seven feet. Six feet. Five feet. Four feet. Three. Two- I quickly turned the corner, aimed, and shot both of the guys while not even hurting Lucas at all. Both of the men dropped limply to the ground and I ran up to Lucas, grabbing his arm and leading him back to the car.

I hopped into the driver seat while he walked over to the passenger and climbed in.

"How the hell did you do that!?" He yelled as I sped out of the parking lot and down the highway.

I guess it is time for the truth to come out.
