---Zöe pov---

I woke up in Garroths arms. I slowly got up trying not to wake him but failed. "Hey..." He said still half asleep. " You can stay asleep for awhile." I said. " Mkay" He said falling asleep again.

Garroth and I were walking we he asked "Hey Zo what we're you going to tell me last night?" I looked at him and said "can we talk over here?" We walked behind a house. "I wanted to tell you that I... I'm a Shadow Knights... pet..." I mumbled the last part. "A what?" He asked I looked at him. "I'm like a dog to any shadow knight and Gene is my master while other shadow knights get to hurt me..." I said holding back tears. Garroth looked shocked and then said "Is that why you were trying to kill me a few days ago...?" I nodded while tears slid down my face. Garroth hugged me and asked " Is Gene the one who killed you mom?" I nodded and sobbing into his chest.

I was walking around when I felt a pain fill my body as I fell to the ground. I haven't felt this pain sense.... when I became a shadow knight...I thought to myself then I felt a hot liquid falling from my eyes. I touched it and looked at the liquid... it wasn't tears.... it was.... blood... I was crying blood then everything went black.

---Laurence pov.... wha?---

I was on patrol when I sensed a shadow knight. It wasn't Vylad.... I walked to where I sensed the shadow knight and found Zöe on the ground curled into a lose ball crying..... blood? All of a sudden she stopped crying and stood up. She was in a shadow knight form. I have to say in a way she looked kind of cute- No bad Laurence! I ment lyrics shaped myself. When I snapped back into reality there was a sword to my throat is looked at who was holding the sword and saw Zöe. "Zöeanne this isn't you." I said and she just smirked. "Zöe..." I heard Garroth say. She turned around and ran up to him pinning him to a wall and holding a sword to his neck. I started to go for an attack but then Garroth put his hand up to stop me. Then he put two fingers together signaling me to wait. I nodded.

---Garroths pov---

I was pinned to a wall and Zöe was the holding me there but she was a shadow knight. I thought then realized something. Then I saw Laurence start at her but I singled him to stop and wait he nodded. Then I looked into Zöe's red eyes and said "Zöe... I know your in there-" I started but was cut off by Zöe "The Zöe you know is gone. Now in a second you will be too." Then I sad something "How would your mother feel?" She lowered her sword and took a few steps back. Her red eyes turn back to the original brown as she her her cherry blonde her turn back to it original golden blonde. She fell to her knees and started crying. I walked up to her and kneeled down beside her. Putting my hand on her back I said "It's ok... I'll still love you..." She stood up and started to run. I got up and followed her.

---Zöe's pov---

I heard faint words "how would your mom feel?" Some one asked. Then all the pain I was feeling went away as I untrasformed. I took a few steps back only able to think of what I just did and my... mom. I was crying then some came and kneeled down beside me. I felt a hand on my back the I heard Garroths voice mail "It's ok.... I'll still love you." After a minute or two I stood up and all I could think was 'run' so I started to run towards the portal back to Phoenix Drop. I jumped through and ran to the statue of lady Irene and fell to my knees. I was sobbing and all I could do was sob. The I heard an unfamiliar voice "stop crying child." I looked up shocked with tears in my eyes. I noticed I was the only on here so I stayed silent. "Child though fate has brought you fear. There is no reason to follow fate. Choose your own way to live." I looked around then realized that it was Irene talking to me.... through the..... statue? Then she spoke again "Child you can chosen two derifent things. The first you can be in slaved by emotionless, darkness, and shadows or you you can be surrounded by love, light, and the sun's light." I looked down. Then I looked up and said "If I could I would choose light and live but-" I was cut off by Irene "You can choose who you want to be. I love you my child but I must go now." The statue stopped glowing and I sat there looking at it. Then some one ran up to me. I turned my head it was Garroth. He said "Zöe are you ok? I saw the statue glow! What did you do?" I sat there just staring at him staying silent. "Zöe?" He asked. Then I felt my eyes burn as tears came to my eyes. I grabbed him, pulled him into a hug, and said "I choose love...." He hugged me back but I could tell he was confused. I was sobbing tears of joy. Then he pulled back but he still had his arms around me. He looked down at me and I looked up at him. Staring into his blue eyes and he staring into my brown ones. He leaned in and kissed me. I was shocked at first, but then I kissed him back. When we broke apart we were both blushing he brushed my cheek and said "I love you." I smiled the said "I love you too." He kissed me again and I kissed back. "Here let me take you home." Garroth said after we broke apart.
