Faline's Escapee Uncle

Quidditch Tryouts

I woke up early Sunday morning to get ready for Quidditch tryouts. I showered, got dressed, put my hair into a ponytail and grabbed my broom. Harry met me in the common room and we went to breakfast together.

During breakfast Jean delivered a letter to me. It was from Uncle Remus wishing me luck in the tryouts. I sent him a smile before I started eating some toast and plum jam.

Harry told me it was time to go and we left to head to the Quidditch pitch. When we got there I saw four other people were going to tryout for Chaser. Oliver left me to last and I got nervous after watching the others.

Especially a sixth year girl who did an amazing job. But I snapped out of it and focused on the task at hand. I passed the quaffle to Katie and then caught dodging a bludger from George. I headed towards the goal where Oliver was blocking them.

I faked right and shoot a goal into the left hoop. Everyone cheered. I waited with the other people trying out. While the team talked about who they wanted on their team. Oliver came and said "Gryffindors new Chaser is Faline Potter" everyone clapped.

But not the sixth year girl who exclaimed "What? I was the best one here and I scored a goal in the center hoop without any help".

"That was your problem you don't work well with others. If the team is divided then we will lose" Katie stated. The rest of the team nodded in agreement. She gave in and said she would work on it some more. Encase we ever needed an extra and Oliver agreed, Katie would help her train.

When the others had left I practiced with the team, after Oliver gave us a lecture on his new strategy. We worked great together and were like a proper team should be. Oliver was so proud of all us and said we would definitely win the cup this year.

That night there was to be a party in the our common room. To celebrate me joining the team, it was the twins idea. I went to tell my Uncle that I made it onto the team. "I did it, I'm on the team" I stated walking into his office.

"That's great Faline I'm proud of you and your parents would be too" he said giving me a hug. Someone coughed behind us and I turned to see Hermione & Ginny in the door way. Uncle Remus looked at me and told me to go. He also said I could tell them the truth about our relationship.

When we left I said "he is my Godfather guys, you know? The one I told you all about last year." This surprised them and Ginny kept asking questions about what he is like outside of teaching. I told them that he was a great Uncle/Guardian and that they couldn't tell anyone.

Hermione understood why and they both agreed to keep it between the three of us. We entered the common room to see the party in full swing. The twins spotted me and dragged me into the middle of it. I sent the other two pleading look, but they just laughed.

We partied for a few hours, before Percy and Professor McGonagall told us to go to bed. Because it was a school night and we needed our sleep. Before McGonagall left she congratulated me on making the team. I had a good sleep that night dreaming of our first Quidditch match.
