"When its dark enough you can see the stars."
― Charles A. Beard

A young boy sat by a window, and tilting his head back, he swallowed a drink of bourbon and cranberry juice in one gulp.
"Holy fucking hell, you look like complete and utter shit."
Riley just glared at the other male, dropping the red solo cup on the already littered floor.
"Well I would've looked better if I had a chance to sleep," Riley leaned his head back on the wall behind him.
He glanced at the window by his side, noticing his reflection.
He really did look terrible, in his own opinion too.
His golden brown hair was sticking up on all ends, the dark browns of his eyes looked sunken and empty. There was also a slight stubble covering his sharp jaw, on his regularly freshly shaven face.
Even his usually sun kissed skin was looking rather pale and pasty.
"C'mon, bro," The dark skinned boy by his side slithered a arm around Riley's shoulders. "Live a little."
"I want to live in my bed, Sav!" Riley growled, pushing the other's hand off his shoulder. "I'm going home,"
Riley made a motion to stand up but Sav pushed him back down in his chair.
"Alright, alright," Sav pouted, patting Riley's head. "Just one more drink and then you'll go home."
"Look, Sav-"
"Nope."
"Sav-"
"Look," Sav sighed, holding on the his drink in one hand while poking Riley's head with the other. "Just one Corona and you can leave peacefully without me pestering you tomorrow. Got it?"
Riley let out a heavy sigh, glaring at another party-goer who nearly stumbled into him in his little corner.
"Fine," He grumbled, pushing the other boy away from him. "But hurry up with it, I don't have class tomorrow and I wanna sleep in,"
Sav smiled and ruffled the other boys hair, "Good boy,"
He then proceeded to go get the bottle of beer.
Riley rolled his eyes, and looked out the window.
The pounding music was giving him a headache, all he wanted to do was jump in his bed with a Advil.
Riley bit his lip in thought, leaning on the window pane.
He most likely looked like a brooding hipster. He probably was.
But this was the closest way to way to get fresh air, he thought, opening the large window.
He breathed in the city air, it was a cloudless night, a few stars dusting the sky.
Riley's mouth opened in shock as he saw a shooting star come into his view.
This was the first time Riley ever saw one, and Riley was definitely going to make a wish.
As Riley thought about what he should wish for, he noticed that the shooting star was coming closer and closer to Earth.
Riley leaned out the window a bit, the noise of the party and the sounds of cars distracting him for a second.
His attention came back to the star which looked like it was about to crash down.
He suddenly stood up, gripping the window pane. The star only a few seconds from crashing down into the park he and his friends frequented.
