"Shit,"
Riley grabbed her elbow, pulling her closer.
"What is that noise?" Miracle whimpered out, stumbling into his chest.
"Uhm, that must be the cops," Not thinking about the arms wrapped around his waist but looking at the giant crater.
"What is that?" Miracle tightened the arms around him.
"That means we should run," The noises getting farther as they sprinted away from the park
------
Riley proceeded to run, not wanting to get in trouble nor leave the beautiful star with the government, who may or may not preform an autopsy on her.
Halfway back on the run to his apartment by the school, Miracle finally realized how to use her legs, speeding off before him.
"Miracle!" Riley yelled, pushing faster to catch up to the small girl who reached his building. "Wait!"
The star finally came to a stop, hearing the others words.
Riley panted heavily finally reaching her, "That's my home,"
Gesturing up at the large brownstone apartment complex, he noticed the awe in her eyes.
"This," She too waved a hand towards the building, "Is your home? All of it?"
Riley still breathing heavily, shook his head. Frowning a bit at the disappointment in her amber eyes.
"Me and my friends own a floor," Riley finally gathered his breath, gently placing his hand at the small of her back, guiding her to enter the building.
They took the elevator to the 7th floor, Miracle had that same look of awe as always.
"The school owns this building and they sell rooms and flats to the students who don't like the dorms." Riley explained, walking them out of the small elevator, not sure if the other would understand what he was saying.
Miracle nodded in what seemed in a understanding way as Riley pulled out set of keys.
They were in a giant but short hallway with two doors on the side and another at the end of the hallway.
"Okay," Riley whispered down to the girl. "We have to try to be quiet, my roommates are probably sleeping."
Glancing nervously at the shimmering, dark skinned girl, Riley pushed his key softly into the lock, twisting it the unlock it.
He looked back at her, and put a finger to his lips.
Miracle nodded, putting a finger to her lips too.
He opened the door slowly, aware of the fact that the door usually has a slight creek.
Looking into the slightly dark kitchen by the entrance, he found no one. He turned to find a scared Miracle, gripping tightly at his arm.
He used his free hand to brush his fingers through his brown locks, trying to think of a plan.
"Do you mind waiting in the kitchen for a bit?" Riley said, pulling out the keys from the lock, ushering the girl in.
Miracle let out a whimper, still gripping onto his arms.
"I don't like the dark," Her voice low as she pulled herself closer to Riley, nestling her head into his neck.
"Don't worry," Riley whispered, not wanting his roommates to wake up.
He flicked the light on the side of of the kitchen wall, "See, nothing to worry about."
