Chapter 31

They both saw Izuku's mom running into the room, tears streaming down her face.

"Mom!?"

She ran towards and hugged him.

"Don't scare me like that, Izuku!"

She was sobbing into her son's shoulder. Deku looked surprised and looked at Katsuki.

Katsuki nodded at him, meaning to comfort his mother.

Deku started to look at his mom and rub her back.

"It's ok mom, I'm here now."

"P-Please stop this Izuku....."

"Ehh?"

Deku's mom get out of the embrace and looked down in sorrow.

"I-I can't stand you getting hurt, maybe if you didn't get a quirk, villains wouldn't attack you anymore."

"M-Mom, it's-!"

"I know before how you felt when you were quirkless Izuku. You felt sad when you were, but you never gave up! I was always supporting you even now, but hearing that my son got shot made my heart stop."

Deku didn't know what to say, his mom telling him all this.

"Mom, if it wasn't for Kacchan. I would've been dead probably right now. I know I'm aiming to be a hero, but in that moment. Everyone I know protects me and saves me. Kacchan is one of those people, he was my hero in that moment!"

Katsuki's eyes widen in a surprise way.

What the hell is he saying?!

Deku started to talk even more.

"Even if I did get myself hurt, it's not going to stop me from being a hero mom! I'll try my best not to hurt myself, so I won't hurt you or anyone else."

By anyone else, he meant Katsuki, All Might, Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, everyone.

Deku's mom started to cry and went towards Katsuki to hug him.

"W-What the-."

"Katsuki Kun, thank you so much!"

Katsuki started to remember when he promised Deku's mom that he would protect him and keep him safe.

She started to stop hugging him and looked back at Deku.

"Izuku, please don't scare me like that. I almost had a heart attack when I got that phone call!"

"S-Sorry mom......"

"It doesn't hurt does it?"

"Huh? Oh! My wound, umm. It kinda does, but not like before. I'm taking down painkillers so it's all fine!"

"Thanks goodness! And thank you again Katsuki Kun, you really are a hero for my son."

"M-Mom!"

Deku started to feel his face heat up from embarrassment, but he knew it was true.

"A-Anytime, I fucking guess......"

Katsuki looked the other to avoid eye contact.

They started to talk for awhile, later the doctor came in to check on Deku and give him some food.
