So, the previous chapter was supposed to be the last chapter, but *cough* someone, *cough* convinced me to write an epilogue of sorts.
EDIT: 1k VIEWWWWSSSSSSS. HAVE A COOKIE (::)
Alkaios's POV
I traced Era's fingers with my own, watching my touch raise goosebumps on her skin. I looked sideways at her, the sunset still illuminating her skin and eyes.
And then I approached the dangerous topic. "Your wings," I said.
She immediately stiffened, turning her head.
"Is there any way?" I asked.
She paused, and took a deep, deep breath.
"Yes." She said.
I rolled over, and kneeled in front of her in the sand, grasping her hands. "Tell me. Tell me and I will make it happen."
"He- he missed when he struck," Era said. "They- they could be regrown."
"How?"
"But it's impossible, at least for me."
"Why?"
"Because I would have to see an old Fae healer... Back on my old planet."
I blinked. "But didn't you say that your portal shut?"
"Yes," Era said softly. "So it's impossible."
"Nothing is impossible!" I declared. "I'll find a way- I will."
"Oh, Alkaios..." She said, tracing things in the sand.
"I will." I vowed.
As the sun set, I made a promise on the River Styx... A promise to my old Gods.
"I will find a way to get Era's wings back... I swear it by the River Styx."
Thunder crackled.
There you go. There's two directions this could go. I could end it here and you'd have to assume what happens next. Or I could write another story about the quest to recreate the portal, and possibly another story after that about Percy and Era's time with the Fae. Not sure though, thoughts are appreciated.
