I laid on my bed, my eyes locked on the moving fan on my ceiling. All I could think about was him...but what was new.
"Y/n, please come eat. I know you're upset but you need to eat and get out of the house. You've been in you're room for 3 days.
I barely talked. I didn't feel the need to.
"Mhm" I mumbled.
She shut my door and then I rolled over, looking out the window.
I missed him, so much. He's been texting me non-stop since the day we got into the fight. At least 3 calls a day and about 20 texts.
Even though I missed him, he doesn't deserve me. I'm too good for him.
"Y/n, I'm taking you out" Jess said, slamming open my door.
"You're gonna get off of this fucking bed, get changed, and then come to the carnival with me. No excuses" she said, lifting me up.
"No" I said.
"I'm not taking no as an answer" she said, lifting me onto my feet.
"What do you want? I'm happy in here" I said, sitting back down.
"No you're not! You're miserable and laying in your room isn't gonna help" she replied, sitting next to me.
"Listen Y/n, I know you're upset but Cam isn't worth it, he's a player. He plays with girls hearts and then moves on. I know it seems like he cares about you, and he might, but he also cares about every other pretty girl too. You're too good for him. He doesn't deserve you Y/n and you need to move on. I know it may be hard but you need to at least try" she said, placing her hand on my back.
"Okay. You're right" I finally admitted.
"Now get in the shower and then get changed because we're leaving in 20" she said and then shut my door.
I got into the shower, letting the warm water hit my face and run down my body, giving me chills. I thought about every moment that me and Cam ever spent together. I slammed my fist onto the shower wall and started crying. I need to let out my emotions somehow. After about 10 minutes of crying and washing, I got out. I put on a pair of denim, ripped shorts and a white crop top. I put my hair in a messy bun and then applied light makeup.
"Okay, ready?" Jess said, opening my door.
"Yeah" I replied and walked downstairs.
We left and got in her car and started driving to the carnival.
"Jess I swear to god if I see Cam here I'm gonna flip my shit" I said.
"I hope not and I'm sorry in advance if he is" she replied, turning on the music.
"Great" I said and let out a small laugh.
We finally arrived at the carnival and it was filled with good music and the smell of fried food.
"Just your typical carnival" Jess said, laughing.
We walked inside and bought a wristband to go on all the rides.
"Oh my god it's Dylan. This could be your chance to move on!" Jess said, pushing me toward him.
"Hi Y/n!" Dylan said, taking a bite of his fried dough.
"Hey Dylan" I replied.
"Wanna go on some rides together, they have some pretty cool ones" he said, smiling his gorgeous smile.
"Yeah, sounds like fun" I said and smiled at Jess.
Jess pushed me along with him and then walked away to go find some of her other friends.
I walked closely next to Dylan because I was scared to see Cam here.
"Are you okay? You seem tense" he asked me, wrapping his hand around my back.
Chills went up and down my spine, making the hair on my arms stand up.
"Yeah, I just recently had a fight with my boyfriend and we kinda broke up and now I'm scared to see him in public" I admitted.
I wanted to be honest with Dylan. He was genuine and kind.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you" he said, taking my hand.
I smiled to myself and then continued walking with Dylan.
We went on a few rides and then decided to get a bite to eat and watch the fireworks.
"So...if you don't mind me asking, what was the fight about?" he asked me.
"He's been talking to other girls our whole relationship and I was done with it. I know I deserve better" I said, taking a bite of my fried dough.
"You do deserve better. You deserve to be the only girl a guy talks too. Don't worry about him, worry about yourself and how you feel. You're too good for him" Dylan said, smiling at me.
Every time he smiled at me, my heart melted and I got butterflies in my stomach. I know I probably shouldn't be feeling this way but I think it's good to be distracted from Cam for a little while.
"Thank you. I appreciate that" I said, resting my head on his shoulder.
I felt Dylan pull away and I sat up, looking at him.
"I'm sorry, did I do something wrong?" I asked.
"No. I just don't want to be you're rebound. I want us to be something real and not just something for you to get Cameron off you're mind. I'm sorry Y/n, but I'm looking for something serious" Dylan said and started to get up.
"So am I. That's why I dumped Cameron. I want to be the only one in a guys life" I said, pulling him back down.
We locked eyes and then our lips touched, moving in sync. The fireworks went off and it felt like the perfect moment. Until someone had to ruin it.
"Oh excuse me, I didn't know you were a slut" I heard a voice say behind me.
I turned around and stood up.
"Like you have a right to talk" I snapped back.
"Woah man, calm down" Dylan said, standing beside me.
"Fuck off Dylan, you're just Y/n's rebound" Cam said.
"Actually we were just talking about that and that's far from true" I butted in.
"Mhm whatever makes you sleep at night Y/n" he said.
"Fuck off Cameron. You obviously aren't the one for her. You had like 3 other side hoes so why don't you shut the fuck up and leave us alone" Dylan said, pulling closer to him.
"Wow you got some heat man" Cam said and then punched Dylan across the face.
"Cam!" I said and pushed him away from Dylan.
Dylan stood up and ran after Cam, pushing him into a crowd of people.
They threw a couple punches but then security broke them up. I tried to get them off of each other but they were too strong.
"Come with me" the officer said.
I followed Dylan, Cam and the police officer into the security office.
"What happened?" the officer asked.
"This douche kissed my girl" Cam said.
"Woah, I'm not his girl" I chimed in.
"And don't call me a douche dude. The fight got started from you saying negative things so let's not start again" Dylan said, wiping the blood off his lip.
The officer gave them both ice packs and towels to clean up.
"If I see you two near each other again tonight, you'll be fined $500. Are we clear?" he said, speaking louder than before.
"Yes" they both said.
We walked out of the office and Cam turned towards me.
"I'm sorry for what I did to you. You don't deserve that. But please, give me a second chance" Cam said.
"I've given you many chances" I said and grabbed Dylan's hand.
We walked away without looking back but that gut feeling nagged at me, telling me to turn around and run into Cam's arms. But I knew what was best for me...and he wasn't.
