Chapter 2

Jade had heard that there was gonna be a party at Luke's house on the first night of school, so she decided to go check it out. She hadn't realized that the party would be so chaotic. Booze flew everywhere as she made her way around the crowded house. Everyone was drinking and dancing, and Jade somehow recognized Luke in the corner. He was leaning against the wall surrounded by five, maybe six girls. Jade gasped, but couldn't bring herself to walk away.

She was relieved when he walked away from the girls and started talking to Tommy and Rob. She was about to leave when she saw Luke walk away from his friends and head over to the pool. Jade watched in horror as Luke hugged Kelly and disappeared into the nearby bushes. She always heard of such rumors but didn't know that they were completely true until now. To even think of having a relationship with another person other than your mate is bad enough. Jade was extremely disgusted at Luke right now, but she couldn't help but feel a pang in her heart. She ran away quickly, tears streaming down her face, and exited the house.

Jade sat down on the front porch where nobody was, hoping to escape from the raucous partying. Even though she didn't want to like Luke, she couldn't help but feel pain. She wished she wasn't a werewolf, and wished especially that Luke would suddenly no longer be her mate.

"Jade, are you okay? Oh my god, you're crying! What happened?" A worried voice came behind Jade. She tensed and looked to see who it was, and relaxed when she realized that it was Alex. Just who she needed right now.

"I uh, I saw Luke.. my mate, if you didn't know about it already. He was all over another girl. She might've been Kelly. I-I didn't know what to do. I had to leave immediately. I just-it-it felt so painful watching my mate with another person."

"That bastard!" Alex blurted out before quickly covering his mouth. "I'm so sorry Jade I didn't mean to say that about your mate-"

"It's fine Alex. That was my exact thought. I know I shouldn't have expected anything from Luke but it still hurts. I'm so sorry to dump all of this emotional trauma on you" Jade sniffled. She tentatively leaned into Alex, and he firmly wrapped his arms around her.

"Jade, it's going to be okay, I just know it. Once that douchebag finally realizes that he loves you, he will come and chase you." Alex replied.

"Alex, thank you so much." Jade said tearfully. She was so glad that she finally had a best friend.

"Hey man, you wanna grab a couple beers and then hang out with those hot chicks over there?" Tommy asked as he jabbed Luke in the stomach.

"Yeah, totally! I think I saw Kelly stripping her clothes off over by the pool with some of her girlfriends. Wanna go?" Luke smiled. His party was going on really well so far!

"Luke, you're too obsessed over Kelly. She's not even that pretty" Rob interjected. "I'm gonna go have a drinking contest over there. I don't really care about Kelly, sorry."

"Hey man, this is your special day, I'm going to go with Rob," Tommy told me.

"Okay, see you guys later!" Luke replied.

Luke sauntered over to the pool. Everyone immediately moved out of the way for Luke to pass them, perhaps out of pure need to follow the orders of an alpha male. He immediately spotted Kelly dancing by the edge of the pool, and casually walked closer to her. He smirked as he saw the lust in her eyes and pulled her into an embrace.

"Luke.. I want you." Kelly whispered.

"Wanna go to somewhere more private?" He whispered back, growing excited. Kelly nodded. Feeling impatient, Luke pulled Kelly into the bushes. He watched to see her reaction, but she didn't seem to mind. Suddenly Luke remembered something important.

"Shoot," Luke cursed.

"What is it?" Kelly asked, confused.

"I didn't bring any condoms," Luke replied.

"Babe, I don't care. Anyways, condoms don't feel as good." Kelly grinned, relieved that Luke still wanted her. "I'll make you feel real good soon," she whispered.

Luke sweared that was the best party he ever had.
