Lol flashback time
"Scourge!"
I raced toward the limp leader, leaping over other BloodClan bodies. The ground was wet with blood, and torn out fur stuck to my paws.
I cried out as I saw the deep gash in his throat. But I noticed something...
He was still breathing!
I shook his shoulders, tears falling down my cheeks. My whole body went limp with relief as Scourge groaned and opens his eyes.
"Jade...?"
I started washing his fur, trying not to rear back at the metallic taste of blood. I touched his muzzle with my own. My tears fell on his face.
"I thought I lost you."
After that, I took him to Jay, the old, old shecat who knew a thing or two about herbs. She didn't look too thrilled at who her patient was, but helped him all the same. Soon, Scourge was up and walking.
You could imagine his reaction a few nights later, when I told him the news. "Scourge, I'm having kits!" I meowed happily. The way his blue eyes sparkled with joy made me purr.Bramblestar and Squirrelflight stared at me wonderously as I finished the story.
"Scourge was alive..."
The mighty leader looked at his deputy. Squirrelflight had the same look on her face.
"What are you talking about? Can someone please tell me how you know Scourge?"
Bramblestar sighed. He looked at me. Squirrelflight got up and sat next to me, her ginger fur pressed against mine.
As Bramblestar told me the story of how the clans know Scourge, I feel my heart shatter.
When he finished, he looked at my, sympathy clouding his gaze.
"Scourge was a murderer?" I whispered. Both cats nodded, Squirrelflight avoiding my gaze.
"I... I think I'm going to check on my kits..." But as I tried to stand up, my legs buckled and I fell. I felt salty tears fall.
"Oh... deary... we're so sorry..." But I ignored Squirrelflight and raced outside. Cats avoided me as I went by, but I didn't care. Instead I crashed right into Thornclaw.
"Jade! Are you alright?"
I looked up into his wide, worried amber gaze and loosened. I didn't feel like doing anything else so I pressed my muzzle into his fur and cried. We both sat down, and he wrapped his tail around me, meowing "It's okay..."
We sat like that for a few heartbeats.
"Bramblestar told you about Scourge, didn't he?"
I nodded. Thornclaw got up, and led me to a den. We stepped over branches of the fallen birch tree, and went inside. I laid down, Thornclaw laying beside me.
"It's going to be okay," he meowed, and that was the last thing I heard as I fell into a well-needed sleep.
