~Logan's POV~

The rest of the day passed without too much incident. Honestly, it seemed that I shared about half my classes with the three new boys. And they all happened to be in the classes I had with Estelle and Tess.

If that's not cliche, I don't know what is.

They didn't act like they did this morning. I guess they decided not to get suspended on the first day after all. The worst thing they did was whisper and laugh quietly. Which, compared to what the boys at this school usually do, that was pretty normal. At least they weren't putting their hands in another boy's pants pocket or completing each other's sentences like some others. . .

Don't ask.

You really don't want to know.

We all had our last hour together too; Choir. Mrs. Kline was one of my favorite teachers, she was sarcastic, funny, and didn't take shit from her students. Honestly, she's like an older version of Estelle. Except, you know, her focus is music, not English. . . Or athletics. . .

You know, that's not important right now, moving on.

Since the rooms were divided into sections; soprano, tenor, bass, and alto, we didn't have to sit by the boys, thank The Lord. I don't know if I could've dealt with their antics. Tess, Estelle, and I were all altos, and the boys haven't been tested yet, so the just sat with the basses. The basses were our smallest group and really needed some help.

Maybe you're wondering why I'm going into so much detail about plain old music class. It's because I want to be a singer, if professional athlete doesn't work out. I don't think I have the best voice, but I know I can sing. People are always telling me that I have a great voice, but I'm not sure I believe it. Once I win an award I might.

After we finished up going over some counting and sight-reading, Mrs. Kline stood in front of her stand. "Be quiet! I have something important to say. This year, by popular demand, we are going to do another song with a couple people harmonizing. I would say it's a duet, but since it's more than two people, you can't. So basically, if you're interested, find a time to talk to me and we'll find a time for you to audition." She looked around the room. "Then the best singers will be chosen. Any questions?" She asked, raising her eyebrow.

Henry's hand shot in the air. "Um, what song is it?"

"Henry! Did I call on you? Remember the sign; think before you say!" She said, laughing and rolling her eyes. "God. . . Kids these days."

We all laughed because Henry frequently got scolded in this class. And it usually wasn't completely serious, there was always a light tone to it all.

Henry blushed, his freckles standing out. "Sorry. . ."

"The song will be 'Stay' by Rhinna." She said. Then class resumed. I was happy the song was Stay, I really like it. I'd have to remember to talk to her about it. But I couldn't today because we had a game. And we were gonna kick ass.

"1. . .2. . .3. . ." Estelle and I counted in unison as we warned up for our game against Sacred Heart. They were good and we had to beat them. If we did, we had a chance at state. Which was what we wanted. Our school hasn't gotten that far in years.

Estelle and I continued our warm up when they walked in. Estelle just rolled her eyes and kept going, but I watched them. The blonde one caught my eye and winked, to which I responded with the bird. He just smirked and him and his gang sat down.

Right in front of us.

Yay.

Estelle and I sat down and stretched out our legs, forming a diamond and moving the ball clockwise between us. Estelle's legs were much longer than mine and she kept adjusting them. I heard the boy with the beanie laugh and call out "That's right, spread those legs!"

Estelle's cheeks heated up and I glared at him. I rolled my eyes at Estelle. "Can't they grow up?"

She sighed. "I dunno. But I am defiantly going to spike the ball at them."

At that thought I smiled and we began to pepper. Estelle was a terrible setter, and I ended up running to the net and bumping it back. She apologized but kept it going. I just smiled at her.

But then I made the mistake of looking at the three boys, who were checking all of the girls out. Those disgusting pigs. I nudged Estelle. "Horny pigs 5'o clock."

She rolled her eyes. "Switch me spots." I did as she said and I threw the ball at her. She dug it up, and I set it, wondering what at she was planning. But then she approached and jumped, slamming the ball down, and it bounced and hit the curly haired boy right in the face.

I bit back laughter as she smirked and walks over to collect the ball. "Sorry dude. Shit happens." She said, shrugging then walking over to me smiling.

I patted her on the shoulder. "Nice job, Stelle!"

She flipped her high ponytail in a terrible impression of a snob. "I know." We both chuckled and continued peppering until the buzzer rang and we moved on to our official warm up. We did rapid fire, and two passing drills. Then we ran to the bench and received out short and to the point pep talk from coach.

Finally, the game begun. I started in front row outside, Estelle was front row middle, and Tess was our all-around setter. And, not to sound cocky, we were a pretty good team. It also helped that out back row was pretty stellar too.

We had won the coin toss and it was our serve, which meant Tess was up. She smiled and calmly walked behind the serving line. The up-referee's whistle blew and she served a beautiful floater over the net, getting us an ace. Us six girls out on the court did the cheer and I heard the three boys in the stand whistle.

Idiots.

The game resumed, and we were killing them. Tess kept setting the ball up near perfectly, and Estelle and I were slamming them down. Estelle also had some nice blocks, which was very helpful. Sacred Heart had one short server, and it was my job to pass the ball up. Luckily, all was going well for me.

And then I got up to serve.

My first serve was good, not an ace but we returned it, and they failed to do so again. But on my second serve, right when I tossed the ball up, the blonde boy yelled "Yeah baby, smack that!" I was so surprised at the loud outburst in the near silent gymnasium that my ball went wide and it was out.

"Damn it!" I hissed under my breath as I rushed to my position, ready to receive the ball. Estelle turned and gave me a sympathetic glance, then rolled her eyes. I smiled halfheartedly and tried to focus on passing up the ball.

Needless to say, I was hiding my great irritation caused by those three pricks.

The blonde one in particular.

The bitch made me miss my serve in a play off game.
