Chapter 12: Date with Luke

Jontel's POV

I just picked up Nancy to head to Kaci's so they can help me get ready for my date with Luke. "So, do you know where you're going?" Nancy asked. "Nah, he just told me to dress nicely," I reply. "Don't worry, we've got that part handled." Nancy answers. When we get to Kaci's house she's waiting at the door. "How did you know we were here?" I ask. "With that loud ass car of yours, I heard you a block away." Kaci answers. "Oh yeah, forgot about that but I love my birthday present so leave my baby alone." I Joke.

Nancy's POV

Kaci and I had just finished getting Jontel ready for her date with Luke, and God she looked beautiful. We straightened her hair to perfection and Kaci did her makeup. "Girl you look so beautiful!" I tell Jontel. Jontel was wearing a purple sequin dress that was very elegant but yet also casual. "Thank you! I'm excited!" Jontel said smiling at her reflection in the mirror. "You should be! Luke is so cute!" Kaci said smiling. "Ooh, I'm telling Ash!" I said playfully. Kaci laughed and shook her head. "Haha very funny." Kaci laughed. I went to look out the window to see Luke pulling into Kaci's driveway. "Alright, Jontel! Showtime! Luke's here!" I said excited for my best friend's first date. "Oh my God," Jontel said nervously as Luke knocked on the door. "I'll get it, it's okay," I said laughing. "Sure, okay," Jontel said composing herself. I open the door to a very handsome Luke. "Hey, Luke!" I smile and greet him. "Hey, Nancy! Hey, Ba- Oh my God..." Luke cuts off. "What? What's the matter?" Jontel asks nervously. "You look Beautiful!" Luke says walking over to Jontel. "Thank you! You look very handsome yourself." Jontel said to Luke, looking at his Black skinny jeans, black shoes, white button up shirt, and a bow tie. "Thank you beautiful. You ready?" Luke asks her. "Yeah, bye guys! Thanks so much for helping me!" Jontel says to Kaci and I. "No problem! Have fun, Guys!" I say to them. "We will! Bye!" They say walking to Luke's car.

Jontel's POV

We just left Kaci's house for my date with Luke and I'm super excited. "So how are you liking Jacksonville so far?" I ask him smiling. "I love it!" Luke says smiling at me. "Oh yeah? What's your favorite part?" I ask. "That's easy. You!" Luke says smiling at me. I blush. "No seriously." I giggle. "Really. It's you, Kaci and Nancy. You guys are the true meaning of family." Luke says smiling over at me. "Yeah, I love them. They're really amazing people. Nancy and I are really close and have been for a while." I say smiling at the memory of us in algebra 2. "I can see that," Luke says smiling. "What about you and the boys? You all seem to be pretty close." I ask smiling. "We are all like brothers and we have been ever since we met Ashton," Luke says as we pulled into the parking lot of a fancy Italian restaurant. "I hope you like Italian," Luke says smiling. "Who doesn't!?" I ask giggling as we got out of the car and Luke gently takes my hand in his and I beam with happiness. The doorman opens the door and welcomes us as we approach the host. "Hello, did you have a reservation?" The host asks. "Yes, under Hemmings," Luke says sweetly, looking at me. "Right this way, please." The host says leading us over to our table putting two menus in front of us. "Your waitress will be right with you, two. Please enjoy your meals." The host says kindly. "Thank you." We say to her as we look at our menus. "What sounds good to you, Aussie?" I ask Luke giggling. "Aussie?" Luke says chuckling. "Yeah, Nancy told me that Mikey put his number into her phone as her sexy Aussie, and I couldn't help myself," I said laughing. Luke starting laughing with me. "That sounds like Mikey," Luke says still laughing. Just then the waiter comes and we tell them our beverage selections and he leaves. "Well, to answer your question Miss. All-American, the Chicken Fettuccine is my favorite." Luke says to me. "Mine too!" I say giggling, then the waiter comes back with our drinks and takes our order then once again leaves. "So Jontel, tell me about yourself," Luke says taking a sip of his drink. "Well, as you know I go to Sandalwood, I live alone in my house, I have 2 cars; a Black Dodge charger with silver and purple rims and purple lights underneath, and a metallic red Hummer and yeah... that's about it. What about you?" I say to him. Luke smiles and says, "I too attend sandalwood high, I have my own car obviously a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro which is convertible, and I am staying with Ash, and Mikey, oh and I can sing and play guitar." Luke says smirking at me. "Are you kidding me!? You totally have to play for me sometime." I say smiling. "Of course I will baby!" Luke says as our food is put in front of us. "Enjoy!" The waiter says. "Dig in!" Luke says.

The food was incredible, and the date was amazing. As Luke drove me home we had the radio on and Taylor Swift's Shake It Off came on and we both started belting out the lyrics and Luke was right, he can sing! We ended our perfect date by Luke walking me up to my door and kissing me goodnight.
