For the first time I slept with no nightmares. It was truly peaceful. Gentle sunlight sifted through the blinds and caressed my face. I stifled a groan and I turned on my side. I was sore. At least I wasn't injured. The effects of the time that I had spent in that place were finally catching up to me. Why did I not take the time to sleep or keep my strength up? I had pushed myself so hard that I was running on pure adrenaline. Now my poor choices are coming back to bite me. I felt a hand on mine. "Italy? Italy please wake up!" I heard Germany's voice. He was trying not to sound to panicky or desperate but I could hear the worry in his tone. I had to force my eyes open. My body protested with 'Nope. More sleep.' I fought the urge to go back to my dreamless dreamscape. Germany needs me here. I can go back later.
"Ger...ma....ny?" God, even my voice was affected. It sounded like I decided to gargle with vinegar and sea water mixed together. I guess I wouldn't be doing any yelling or spell work for a while. He let out the breath that he was holding. He looked very tired. His blonde hair was oddly messy.
"Thank God. Don't you ever do something like that again!" He ran his free hand through his messy locks. I knew that he will never openly admit that he was worried. That was my job.
"Ve~ do what Germany?" I asked innocently. If I wanted to pull this off as a random fluke, I was going to have to act better than ever. He sighed as he explained how I randomly collapsed, out cold, after kissing him. Also he mentioned how quiet I was on the way home. Oops. I guess I let my mask slip. I need to be more careful or the results will not be pretty.
Then something clicked. Germany shouldn't look this tired if I was out for one night. I've seen this look on him before. Many, many times. Curse that stupid mansion. "H....how long was I asleep for?" I timidly asked. I dreaded that answer. His expression was guarded, but I did see a flicker of alarm pass through his clear blue eyes. "I....need to know..." I quietly pleaded. I sounded as quiet as Canada.
"I'll get you something to eat." He avoided my question and walked out of the bedroom that we shared. I pleaded to his back but he never turned back.
'Lucky.' A voice whispered softly in my head. I recognized it immediately to be the one and only, mostly, evil Italy. I sent him a puzzled response. 'At lest someone took the time to look after you. I got the floor.' I felt a wave of amusement.
'You got the floor?' I felt bad for him. He chuckled. We continued to chat about random things until Germany came back with pasta. Yum!!! I sat up with a groan. My friend shot me a nervous glance. I didn't need to be a genius to tell what was going on in that head of his. I gave him my brightest smile and happy ate my food. Normally it would be gone in seconds but I just wanted to enjoy my favorite dish.
"Please can you tell me how long I was out? Ve~ I want to know if Pookie's ok!" I pleaded one last time. I threw in my kitties name too, hopefully, convince him. He sighed when he saw the puppy dog look. It gets him every time.
"Ok. But you are not going to like my answer." He warned. My heart almost stopped. Just how long was I out for?! "Italy, you were asleep for almost a month."
I nearly fainted. Never mind. I did faint.

Later that day I was up and running, much to Germany's surprise. He wanted me to go to the doctor to get checked out but I hastily told him that I was fine. He let it slid but didn't look convinced. Pookie leaped into my arms as soon as she saw me. I missed the purring feline as much as she missed me. I set her on the floor before running to catch up with Germany. "Ve~ Germany! Wait for meeeeeee!" I yelled. I wasn't going to let him out of my sight now that I got him back. He looked back at me with those beautiful blue eyes.
"Nein Italy. You are staying home to rest." He replied. I was about to give him a half hearted glare before I remembered that he didn't know about the mansion. Sigh. That means that I have only two options. Be oddly happy and cheerful or cry. I hate them both.
'You know, Feli, you could just tell him that you are going with him and that's final.' My friend stated casually. I wanted to yell at him. How can he be so casual about this?!?! The Italy Germany knows would beg, whine and cry. The real me....not so much. I was about to 'cry' when the German's cell rang. He was about to answer it when I grabbed it out of his hand.
"Ve~ Ludwig's residence, may I ask who's calling?" I said. I couldn't tell who was more shocked, Germany or America. I'm going to go with Germany. In the time that I have know him I have never taken something from him. Especially his cell phone.
"Yo Italy! Glad your up! You feeling better?" America all but screamed into the cell. I was very tempted to hold the phone away from my ear. In fact I could just let Germany handle this phone call.
"Yes, I am feeling much better thank you. How are you today?" I replied. America fell silent. Opps. I forgot that I wasn't supposed to have manners. I quickly shove the phone back at Germany and ran. He watched me run with a confused yet concerned look in his eyes. He answered the phone and he and the American talked for a little while. I decided that my best hiding spot wasn't going to be very hard to find. If you looked up, that is. I climbed one of the big oaks in our back yard. The green leaves blocked anyone from seeing me, but I could see out.
It took my beloved German almost a half hour to think about checking the backyard for me. He was annoyed and frustrated. It took another half hour for him to find himself underneath the branch I was sitting on. I was at least eight feet above him, and was way higher than Hetalia would dare to climb. "Ok Italy, you win. Where are you?!" He muttered. I pondered whether I should give my perfect hiding spot up or I should just wait until he leaves.
'I say wait.' Luciano said. I noticed that he was happily bossing Kuro and Lutz around. At least someone was able to act. Unlike me who was dropping hints all over the place!!!
'I didn't ask you.' I sarcastically retorted. He shrugged. It made no difference to him. Just to be stubborn I decided to go against my 2p's advice. "Ve~ Germany! Look up!"
"How did you...." The startled German started to say before I cut him off.
                                      "Why, I climbed!"
