I got to my house and found it empty. I didn't have time to mourn partly because I still didn't know if my family was dead or alive. I went to the computer first and went on the internet, (surprisingly it was still working). I went to the news page and it said that something from middle Earth came up in over a 1,000 places at once. The species was unknown and had lethal weapons. The leaders of the world are coming together to discuss the situation. The species also has been sighted taking humans as hostiles. There are no further details. I didn't know what to do. I could stay and wait for help, or go find other survivors. I walked upstairs to my room. Grabbed my backpack and put three flashlights, some clothes, a journal, some warmer clothes, my personal belongings, and my photo album. I also grabbed a sleeping bag, and a small pillow. Then I walked over to my mom and dads room and grabbed their 12 gauge shotgun and 20 rounds of shells. I loaded the gun and walked back downstairs. I went to the fridge first and grabbed some food that could last a while. I also went to the pantry and grabbed some food that could last years. After I was done packing my bag weighed a little over 15 pounds. I went to our garage and grabbed a hatchet and a sharpening stone just in case I ran out of ammo. While I was there I grabbed a whole lot of matches. I put on some durable boots and a light but warm coat with a hat. Then I was ready to go.
