Kyler's POV
We were walking through the trees back the way we came. I hope Charley would be alright. I felt so bad for leaving her in so much pain. But we needed suplies.
"Guys we are going to have to break windows." I whispered as we approached the city.
"Im okay with that," Mehki said as he licked his lips and picked a rock up off the ground.
"Dont get too crazy Mehki," said Duke as he also picked up a rock.
I leaned over and picked up a rock for myself. It was cold and my arm was bare due too me ripping the sleeve off.
"We are going to need too grab diffrente things." I whispered as i squatted down low and peeked my head out of the thick trees.
The general store was luckly on the edge of town where the Forest curved around. We slinked out of the bushes and around too the front of the store.
The night was silent. No cars. No lights. Only the noise of a cricket here and there.
"Ready..?" I asked them a little louder then i should have.
"Yea," they both replied in unison.
"On three," i said.
"1...2...3!"
We chucked our rocks at the giant glass windows at the front of the grocery store. I watched as the glass shattered into a million peices and landed on the inside of the store.
We sprinted inside and began stripping stuff off the shelves. I ran too the back where i had remembered seeing a rack of back packs a few weeks earlier. I grabbed three and ran too the front of the store. I tossed one at Mehki who was carying a box of granola bars. I chucked another at Duke who was holding a kitchen pot and a lighter. I began stripping items that looked like it would be useful off the shelves. Some of which was a package of washcloths, a small set of three kitchen knifes, three fleece blankets.
My backpack was full so i flung it over my shoulder. I grabed a second one and began to also fill it. Beef jerky, a wrap for injuries, pain releiver, and some band-aids.
I dashed back too the front off the store. Duke was running back up the aisle with his backpack and a large package of waterbottles. Mekhi was running twards me with a large beach bag and his back pack.
"Hurry! We need too go!" I hissed as i grabber a cardboard box full of Twix because i knew they were Charley's favorite.
Sirens grew near quickly. I could hear them. They wernt far off.
We tore out of the building and back into the trees. The water looked heavy so i grabbed one end of the package and helped Duke carry it as we catapulted back through the thick tangle of trees.
