New boy, old memories

After the late bell had rung Mary sighed and walked over to her assigned seat which was a desk over leaving the desk in between us empty. It was Jakes seat and even though Mary wanted to sit there when he left Mrs.Quentin said no. I was thankful for that. I love Mary. But that was Jakes seat. When he came back he would sit there so there was no use in her moving. Plus it's not like we can talk in this class Mrs.Quentin is strict on everything. Looking over at Jakes desk I sighed in content.

  "ALLIE MY LOVE"
"Yes Jake"
I rolled my eyes as this is how he greats me every time he walks into this class;he acts like he didn't drive me here or walk me to my first class an hour ago. Boys. So clingy.
"I'm sorry babe I've just missed you so much, but I mean it's fine be rude. Rude people don't get surprises"
My ears perked at the thought of a surprise.
" Me? Rude? Oh never. I've missed you too my love..  Did you say something along the lines of a surprise? What's that about?"
He let out a deep chuckle before kissing my nose making my cheeks turn the rosy red that seemed to never go away when he was around.
" Hmm, I don't know, guess you'll have to find out during lunch."
I pouted at him and his response was to peck my bottom lip causing me to glare at him. It wasn't until Mary showed up that...

"ALLISON MCDONALD"
My head snapped away from the desk so fast that I thought I had whip lash.
"Yes Mrs.Quentin" I answered timidly
"I've been calling for you, what on earth could be going on in your head that you're so disconnected,you know I've- never mind. This is Daniel he's new. He's going to be sitting next to you from now on. Daniel take your seat."
My embarrassed face turned into one of confusion when I looked to her left and for the first time noticed the attractive male standing quite confidently next to her. He caught my stare and then smirked at me before walking towards Jakes desk.
"Wait Mrs.Quentin, is this really necessary? Can't he sit over by Amelia? This isn't the only desk." I gave her a pleading look hoping she'd understand.
"Im sorry Allison, but I told him to sit there and that's final."
Deciding there was nothing more I could do on the subject I just gave her a small smile and nodded.
As soon as he sat down Daniel turned to me trying to spark up a conversation while Mrs.Quentin was getting today's notes in order.
"Hey I'm Daniel"
"So I've heard" I replied in monotone, I wasn't sure whether I liked this guy or not. His cocky persona was throwing me off especially when mixed with his shy but charming smile and his beautiful green blue eyes. Nothing compared to Jakes, but beautiful none the less. He gave a small smile before responding
"I was hoping to get your name as a response beautiful, unless you just want to be called by pet names all year, cause that's fine with me too baby doll."
I rolled my eyes at his flirting before responding
" My names Allison, but I'm sure you knew that considering she just yelled it to the whole world. Nice try though."
He was about to respond when the vibration coming from the top of my desk cut him off. Without thinking I snatched my phone hoping for what seemed to be the millionth time this month that Id see Jakes name. However, just like every other time I sighed in disappointment. An action I'm sure didn't go unnoticed by the confused looking boy staring at me.
Opening Mary's message I couldn't help but to glare at her.

Mary sighed before looking over at me with sad eyes and mouthed 'take a chance' just as Mrs.Quentin displayed the notes for us to copy.
Take a chance? What does she mean by that. I don't know where Jake is or what he's doing but I have to stay loyal. I can't hurt him like that. Plus new boy was barley flirting it's not like any things ever gonna happen between us.
