Chapter 1 - Are you serious?

I opened my eyes after a long, well deserved nap. I had a really rough day at school, so I really deserved some rest.
I looked at the clock. 6:30. I got up and trudged into my dorm room, hoping not to wake my roommate, Alexi, who had decided to crash as well.
I pulled out my laptop and started surfing YouTube. The first thing I did however, was see if there was a new video posted by my favourite gamer and my idol, Markiplier.
Sure enough, there was a video posted. The title was "Major Contest Announcement!!" I read the title a few more times and was slightly taken aback. Mark doesn't do contests. He does the occasional tshirt giveaway but that's just about it. I decided to see what it was all about.
"Hello everybody! Markiplier here with a very special contest! Now, I don't usually do contests like this but the current circumstances require me to do this. So, my next charity livestream is going to be next Friday, at 10am EST. I would have gotten Bob and/or Wade involved, but Bob is in North Carolina and Wade is out of town with Molly. So I am personally inviting one of you, to come and participate in this livestream. To enter, simply send me an email as to why you think you deserve this opportunity. Polls will be open for only 36 hours, so I will have the winner picked in time to send them tickets and for them to get settled. Restrictions are, you need to be over 16 and you must be a subscriber. That's all for today, I'm really looking forward to this and good luck!"
Did I really just watch this? I had to watch it again just to see if I was really seeing this. Sure enough, I was. I was so close to screaming, but I managed to control myself, as I prepared to send my application email.
