Three weeks later

Logan's P.O.V

I have stayed next to Jackie's hospital bed ever since the Claire incident. The doctors don't even know if she'll wake up. I broke up with Claire after that because I saw how beat up Jackie was, and I decided to get her away from my life. Also, I kind of don't look forward to Jackie waking up because her house burnt down and her dad didn't make it. It's gonna break her heart.

I think I'm falling for her, but I can't be with her. There's too much going on with me, if I got together with her it'll put her life in danger. Besides, I don't need anyone. I'm just fine by myself. I see on her heart monitor that her heart beat is increasing, rapidly.

"Please wake up." I say wanting her to wake up now more than ever.

"L-Logan?" She says, her heart rate going down. Wait, did she say 'Logan'

"Hi Jackie" I say relived that she was awake

"W-where's my dad?"

"Um," I say "I-I'm sorry, but your house caught on fire a-and he didn't make it out"

"W-what?" and with that, she starts crying

"Shhh, I know it sounds bad, but it'll be okay" I say trying to comfort her.

What, I might be a bad boy but I still have a heart. After all, I do have a baby. After a while she calms down and changes the subject.

"Why'd you save me, why not just let them beat me silly?" She asked

"Because, even though I'm a bad boy I- you know what, just forget it."

"Okay, where am I gonna live?"

I can't believe it, she's the first person who just let that conversation lay.

"My parents agreed you can stay with us." I said, I am gonna have to tell her I have a daughter soon.

"Why did my house burn down?" She asked

"I know, but I can't tell you"

"Why?!" She yells "MY DAD IS DEAD AND YOU WON'T TELL ME THE REASON!"

"I'm sorry Jackie" I stand up and walk out
