It was day three, I had two more days left. Classes had already ended and lunch time had begun.
Since I had free time, I decided to go to a store and buy something nice for Jimin. When Jimin and I were younger, he would use to steal my toys and break them. It was his way of messing around. I would cry to my brother and complain about the mess he would make. But we were young, and that was a long time ago.
While laughing at the thought, I walked over to the convenience store across from my school and picked out a generic box pre-packaged with bite-size chocolates.
Glancing at the time, I began packing whatever I had in my hands and walked back to class.* * *
I sent my brother a text to bring Jimin to the rooftop, which where I will attempt to hand my gift to him. As I got to the rooftop, I slowly opened the door only to see Jimin waiting by the bench, his back facing me.
"H-Hi," I greeted him whilst slowly walking towards him. He was startled for a brief moment then sighed as soon as he faced me.
"You?" he glared.
"I just wanted to give you this." I stated, curling my lips whilst extending the gift toward him.
"What is it?" he examined the box carefully, still giving me that nasty look.
"Oh, it's for you. I spent my lunch money on this. I hope you acknowledge my feelings," I stated. I felt my whole-body trembling while trying to maintain my posture.
". . ." Jimin didn't utter a word and grabbed it. "Is this what you've been doing? Wasting your time with damn chocolates?" Jimin sneered as he vigorously grabbed the gift from my hold.
"I just want you to acknowledge my feelings," I mumbled.
"Well, guess what, your effort will be paid off," Jimin threw the box on the floor and stomped all over it, making sure he demolished the box.
"J-Jimin, what are you doing?!" I gasped, kneeling on the ground in shock.
"Isn't this what you wanted?" he sneered.
"No! I just wanted you to appreciate me!" I stated through gritted teeth as tears were beginning to form in the corners of my eye.
"You will never have a chance. I am sick of this." he glared one more time before deciding to walk away. I remained silent, not moving a muscle.
"J-Jimin. . ." I sobbed, never in my life, have I felt this much hurt. "I've always liked you," I mumbled through tears. I felt angry, and lost.
* * *
During class, I didn't pay much attention to the lesson. I was only thinking of Jimin.
"Ms Kim, what is the next step after substituting three," Ms Hyun points at the board, snapping me from my thoughts.
"Uh, I don't know," I blurted, making the whole class laugh.
"Ms Kim, you are going to be expelled in two days and you're still not putting any effort to this," she announced, earning whispers from the class.
"I'm sorry, I'll try hard next time," I apologize, but Ms Hyun looked disappointed.
"There won't be a next time, Ms Kim," she stated sarcastically and went continued with the lesson.
Sighing, I slumped in my seat and doze off, blacking out.
* * *
"Yah, wake up. Mum is worried about you," I heard my brother say while he lightly shook my shoulders
"Mm," I groaned and slowly fluttered my eyes open, only to realize that I was still in the class room.
"You fell asleep during class," Namjoon stated, as he stands up firmly.
"That damn teacher didn't even bother waking me up," I mumbled and exited the classroom while Namjoon followed behind me.
"So, how did it go? What did you and Jimin talk about?" Namjoon asks, curious of what the reason may be. Tears started to form again, after hearing his name.
"It's none of your business," I snapped at him. Arriving at my locker, I grabbed my stuff and shoved them in my bag. I began walking again, not waiting for Namjoon.
"Hey! Wait!" He yelled, running after me.
* * *
"I'm home," I greeted my parents as I closed the door behind me.
"Good, you're back, I was just preparing dinner," mum stated, preparing the table while dad was reading a newspaper across from her.
"Where have you been? We had to ask Namjoon to check the entire school just to look for you," my father stated with an annoyed look.
"Ah, I fell asleep," I smiled nervously whilst scratching the back of my head.
"That's not a good habit," my father uttered whilst his eyes remained glued to the contents of the article. My mum began setting the food and beverage, while Namjoon voluntarily helped her in the process while I began to make my way upstairs.
"I'll be up at my room,"
