Because... I like you

"We have to go in Kai" Tyson and I sit in his car in front of Isaac's house

"I know, I just need a minute" I've been to his house before, just never when the whole school was inside of it

"Man I can't believe this is his house, you weren't kidding when you said it was huge"

"No I was not" after a few more breaths "alright come on" I get out of the car.

Walking in the house is very loud, people everywhere drinking, dancing, and kissing. Tyson and I glance at each other as we walk through with very different expressions, he's so excited and I would rather be anywhere else. I think that's why my mom let me go, she knew I wouldn't enjoy it. "This is amazing!"

Some rando hands him a drink and I quickly take the cup from him before he drinks it "no drinking Tyson! You drove us here"

"Damn it!" Tyson walks away and I look for the nearest corner. Keeping an eye on Tyson I start to walk around to see if I can find Isaac.

Walking into the kitchen I grab a bottle of water and I notice a group of the seniors from school eye balling me and whispering to each other, I need to find Isaac. I continue to look around "hey you made it!" I hear behind me and I turn around "didn't think you'd come" he comes in and hugs me

"Told you I would" I reply

"Awesome! Do you want something to drink?" I flash my water bottle "oh come on water?"

"Yeah I'm ok with water and plus I have to keep an eye on Tyson" we both turn to him trying to dance with every girl

"Think you can get away for a bit?"

"Sure why?"

"I want to show you something" he grabs my hand pulling me to the back of the house. When we finally reach he opens a sliding door and we walk out, then we stop

"Wow" his backyard is beautiful, with flowers and twinkle lights everywhere "is this a garden?"

"Yeah, I remember seeing yours and you saying how much time your mom spends on it, I figured maybe you could see mine"

"You did this?" I turn to him

"God no! We have people for that, but I like to come out here at night"

"It's so peaceful"

"Right! Thought you'd like it" he smiles

As I open my mouth to say something someone comes out "Isaac we're running low on drinks"

"Alright I'll be right there. Don't move I'll be right back"

"Okay." What is happening? Not only am I at Isaac Booker's party but he's showing me around!

It's been a while and Isaac hasn't come back, I guess it makes sense it's his party why would he want to be stuck out here with me? Walking back to the kitchen to get another drink I hear "who invited them?" Someone asks

"I did" I can tell that's Isaac's voice

"Well they don't belong here, and the weird one keeps following us around" girls are complaining to Isaac about Tyson

I look at him and pout because of how standoffish everyone is being towards him, he just wants to have a good time but no one is talking to him "come on Tyson let's go home" I walk up to him

"Why? it's only 9" because everyone here sucks and we're clearly not invited

"Because I just don't want to be here anymore. Are you even having fun?"

"I am! Come on Kai just enjoy it"

"I'm gonna call my mom to come pick me up, you can stay and have fun and tell me how it went"

"Kaiden come on"

"It's ok Ty really, I know you're enjoying yourself so stay. I just don't want to be here anymore"

"Ok. I'll see you tomorrow morning?"

"Call me when you get home and tell me how it went"

"I will."

Walking towards the door I leave the house and continue out of the drive way. Stoping because I have no idea of where to go I take my phone out of my pocket to call my mom. "You're leaving?" I hear behind me as I dial

I turn around to Isaac "yeah my mom called and said she's coming to pick me up"

"Did she really?"

I look down caught in my lie "no, I just..." I need a good reason

"Why did you come if you didn't want to?"

"Tyson wanted to come and technically he wasn't invited so he came as my plus one" he doesn't say anything "I'm sorry Isaac, I just didn't know what was going on. After I tutored you I excepted everything to go back to the way it was, you with your people and me with my person, Tyson. Then you asked me on a date"

"Which you said no to, twice"

"I know and I only did that because I was helping you. You don't want to go out with me"

"If I didn't then I wouldn't have asked you out Kaiden"

"Why did you ask me out?"

"Because... I like you, I liked spending time with you when you were helping me with trig. I mean if it wasn't for you I'd be kicked off the baseball team"

"You like me?" Swear those were the only words I heard in that whole sentence

"Truth is I threw this party just so I could invite you, that's why you got an envelope and everyone else only got a text" this is happening right? I'm not dreaming it like I have been for the past 2 years

"What?" My mouth practically drops to the ground

"You didn't want to go out with me so I figured the only way I could hang out with you is if I threw a party and invited you, but I got totally distracted and forgot about you. I'm sorry about that" he threw me a party, a whole freaking party just so we can hang out, who does that?

He said that he liked me and that he threw this party for me that's a sign right? And I'd be stupid not to take it? I've never done anything bold in my life and right now there's only one thing my head is telling me to do. So I do it, without a second thought I listen to my head and I kiss him.

His lips are pursed against mine, I can tell he wasn't expecting it but a few seconds later he wraps an arm around my lower waist and squeezes me in. His amazing lips pulling mines apart, and my lips doing whatever he wants. I'll probably regret this but right now nothing else feels more right. After what feels like a minute I pry myself away from his lips "no one's ever done anything like that for me before" I whisper still really close and looking into his eyes

"The party or the kiss?" He whispers back

I pull my body away completely, clearing my throat "the party" but also and very much the kiss "I'm sorry I kissed you"

"I'm sorry I didn't kiss you first" he smirks and I can't feel how red my face is. I can't believe I kissed Isaac Booker! No one will ever believe me.
