As a green paper airplane landed on her desk, Juliet searched the room with her eyes for the sender. Lane was watching her carefully, his brown eyes holding a hint of anxiousness as he gestured for her to unfold it.
She smoothed out the paper and her eyes scanned the paper quickly. Still watching attentively, Lane drummed his fingers on the table and bit his lip. The corners of Juliet's lips tugged into a smile, and she fished a purple pen out of her backpack before marking something on the paper and flying it back to Lane.
Fumbling slightly, he opened the paper and accidentally let out a whoop of delight. After being reprimanded by the stiff teacher, Lane exchanged a sheepish look with Juliet before beaming once more at the green paper where Juliet had checked a box in response to Lane's request for a date. Lane did a celebratory jig in his seat as the teacher's back was turned and Juliet muffled a snicker. She had said yes, and he couldn't be any more ecstatic.
