"When you care for someone more than they deserve, you get hurt more than you deserve."
One of the most excruciating, intolerable feelings in the world: finding out that the person you spent countless nights worrying over and loving, never even cared about you. A feeling that was driving a stake through Bea's heart. As she took a deep breath, leaning her head back against the cool wall, she reflected on how wrong she had been.
All those nights she cried for Andrea, encouraged her, hugged her tight, meant nothing. Andrea saw Bea as nothing more but a mere annoyance. Bea was nothing but a petty fly on the wall.
Pouring out her heart and pulling Andrea out of the darkest of pits simply wasn't enough. It meant nothing, how much Bea put on the line to care for her. Every single day, Andrea had slipped and fell. And every single day, Bea would pick her up and dust her off.
It had happened before, Andrea pushing away Bea and making snarky remarks on her actions. Despite this, Bea cared. Bea still picked up her pieces when she fell the following day.
This time, however, was different. Andrea truly found Bea annoying. Because no matter how much Bea cared and tried, it wasn't enough. Nothing was ever enough for Andrea. But that didn't mean Bea could stop caring.
