my parents yell at me
call me lazy and unmotivated
that I should go far away for college
because watching me lie
in bed all day disgusts them

but how am I supposed
to tell my parents
that their sweet little child
who used to be so full of life
is now dead inside and doesn't see
the purpose of living?

how do I tell them that
I'm always in bed because
sleep is death without the
commitment?

how do I tell them that if
I was presented with a
pill that could kill me painlessly
I couldn't promise them that
I wouldn't take it?
