i've been on my knees more than i have been standing lately.

i have sore, red knees to prove it too. but then again, i can deal with slightly painful knees if it meant that i can taste michael.

michael's taste was addicting; i can't get enough of it.

on a more holy note, calum seems to have cooled down. he can now smile brightly at me without hate burning in his chocolate brown eyes. i expected that though, calum's a reasonable guy. he doesn't hold grudges.

"where are you running off to?" i ask curiously as i watch michael run around our cramped dorm room, holding a few pieces of paper.

"me? oh, no where in particular." michael lies, as he stuffs everything into his bag.

"i can tell when you lie," i remind him, my hands on my hips.

michael sighs as he slings his bag over his back. he stuffs his hands into his pockets and stares at me with an awfully pained, forced smile. he really made an effort to look good today; his lilac hair is combed out nicely and his clothes are clean and free of wrinkles.

it almost makes me think that he's going on a date.

"i'm just meeting up with this guy, we're going to discuss some things." michael explains, looking like he's hiding something important.

"what kind of things?" i ask, more demandingly.

"you, know. things." michael flushes, looking extremely shy. nothing like the confident man i'm use to seeing.

"if he makes any moves on you, i swear, you better kick his ass." i say seriously, following him as he leaves the dormitory.

"i'll see what i can do," michael replies lamely.

i roll my pristine blue eyes and frown. michael's walking so fast, it's almost like he's trying to get rid of me.

as i stare at michael's perfect face, i watch as his small frown develops into a huge grin. it was one of those smiles that made his eyes light up and gave him an appearance of a small, happy kitten. i spin around to catch sight of what's making him so happy.

then i find the source of happiness. it's a lightskin boy with dazzling gold eyes and a cruel, twisted smile. looking at him, i can tell that he's up to absolutely no good.

"hey michael," the boy says slyly.

"hey tyler," michael replies, looking extremely nervous and flustered.

the boy gives me a look over but he seems to think nothing too highly of me because he scoffs and diverts his attention back to michael.

"let's get going," tyler states, giving me a smirk.

i immediately don't like tyler. it's not jealously but he gives me an uneasy feeling. it's the way he carries himself with such confidence that everything he does just seems right. he doesn't give off a good aura either, it seems like he would use people to his advantage and then dump them when he's finished.

michael waves halfheartedly but he's yanked forward by tyler. tyler sneakily wraps his arm around michael's waist and much to my disappointment, michael doesn't do a thing to resist.

i feel tears burn in my eyes. if they were going to be all touchy feely in front of me, what would they do when i'm not there?

i genuinely thought that i meant something to michael.

"don't say i didn't warn you," calum sighs, looking sad for me. he seemed to have appeared out of thin air.

i sniff, trying to blink away my tears. "w-what?"

"i told you not to fall for him. all he's going to do is hurt you in the end, believe me luke, i have first-hand experience." calum continues, smiling. the smile doesn't quite reach his eyes though.

"i couldn't help it," i whimper, trying my hardest not to allow calum to see my pain.

"no one can, he's special that way." calum states, pulling me into a comforting hug.

all this time i always thought of calum as a rather annoying twat who couldn't pull his head out his ass to realize that michael wasn't into him. now i realize that calum's way more then that; he's just a lovesick fool with a heart too big for his body.

not too different from me.

"let's go to my room," calum mumbles as he walks me back to the dormitories.

"okay."
