"Harry met someone."
Liam's head shot up at Niall's words. "Pardon?"
"Harry met someone," Niall repeated.
"I-I heard that but...are you serious? Harry hates people," Liam said, still in shock.
The two were having lunch on the fountain in town, waiting for Louis to meet them there (as they arranged the day before).
"That's what I said when he told me, but he really did meet someone. He met him on that bridge by his house. And Liam, the way he spoke about this boy was absolutely...mesmerizing."
Liam's mouth turned into a large smile. "Tell me."
"Well, he basically said how gorgeous he was and how he was a little sassy. And you know how Harry loses his shit when someone talks back to him, right? Well Harry told me that he didn't mind the back talk. I never saw Harry's eyes grow bright like that. Never," Niall finished.
Liam shook his head, not believing it. "I can't believe it, mate. What if this mystery boy is the gateway to Harry's happiness? I mean...when we were kids he wasn't as happy as he sounds when he's speaking of this person."
"That's what I was thinking. And honestly, Harry needs someone to make him happy like that. He had another break down after talking about the boy. He said how no one as amazing as him would ever go for someone like himself. He cried for a long time on me," Niall sighed.
Liam sighed as well and shook his head, looking down at the unfinished lunch in his hands. "I wonder who this boy is."
"Me too. Harry didn't tell me his name but-"
"Oi, lads!"
The two stopped their conversation when they heard them being summoned by Louis, his bright smile greeting them first before he reached them.
"Hey, Lou," both Niall and Liam greeted Louis, moving over so he could sit between them, a new book in his hands.
"What are you two chatting about?" Louis asked as he closed his book and tucked it away in his basket, which was full of fresh rolls and medicine, probably for his uncle.
"Nothing important," Liam answered, sharing a gaze with Niall.
"Alright," spoke Louis, obviously satisfied with the answer given to him. "Actually...I wanted to talk to you two about something." When Niall and Liam beckoned Louis to continue, he did. "So when I was at my usual spot on the bridge, I met the most...strange man."
Niall's jaw dropped and his snapped his gaze to Liam, seeing his face in knowing shock.
Louis, however, didn't notice his mates' expressions and continued. "And at first glance, he was kind of scary but then I looked into his eyes and man...they were so beautiful. They were like a peridot green. He, himself, was exquisite. He was such a work of art, minus the scar on his face and lips. But to me, that made him look even more beautiful." Louis stopped talking, but a little smile was on his face. Though, when he looked at his mates, his smile dropped. "What is it?"
Liam quickly changed his facial expression and gave Louis a tight smile, patting him on his back. "Nothing, mate. Just a little surprised. Right, Niall?"
Niall cleared his throat. "Um...yeah. You can definitely say that I'm shocked."
Louis looked at his friends skeptically, but let it go. "Alright."
"So do you want any lunch? It's on me," Liam offered, trying to change the subject.
"Actually, I am a little hungry. But you don't have to-"
"No, I want to," Liam assured. He placed his hand on Louis' lower back and guided him to the café, looking over his shoulder at Niall who was still sitting on the fountain in shock.

Harry was in the middle of reading when he heard a knock at the front door. He looked at the grandfather clock in his dark room and saw that it was almost 6. Liam and Niall agreed to come over for dinner. He hasn't properly hung out with them in a while, with what him always rejecting their offers. Plus, his fondness for Liam isn't as high as his fondness for Niall. He's known Liam as long as he's known Niall but he can rely on Niall more. But that's a long story and Harry hates thinking back on it.
The tall man set his book down on his bed and sprinted down the hallway and the spiral steps, missing a few on his way down.
When he opened the door, he was about to greet his mates but he was quickly interrupted by Niall.
"Okay, spill," Niall said, barging into the house, leaving Liam there.
Harry looked back at Niall but then he looked at Liam, his eyes squinting in annoyance as he just stared at him.
Liam chuckled nervously and scratched the back of his head. "Uh...we may or may not be really close mates with the boy you met on the bridge..."
Sudden realization dawned on the taller man's face and he pinched the bridge of his nose. "Come in," he mumbled and walked away from the doorway to go into the kitchen, where Niall was. The moment he entered the kitchen, Niall started ranting.
"Why didn't you tell us the name of the boy you met? Like mate...he is our mate. We would have found out any sooner if it wasn't for him. He just went on and on about how 'pretty your eyes are' and how 'exquisite' you look. We knew it was you when he started ranting. Like, come one, mate. Why hadn't you-"
"Can you shut up for 5 seconds?" Liam quickly silenced Niall for Harry.
"Thanks, Liam," Harry said, looking at Niall. "I didn't think speaking of his name was important. So excuse-the shit out of-me if I didn't tell you his fucking name."
Niall sighed and shook his head. "Mate, I don't want you to get upset. I'm sorry for my outburst. I'm just...looking out for you and for him- for Louis".
Liam stood quietly and watched Harry's reaction cautiously. Liam has always been cautious with Harry since they were young.
Harry exhaled deeply and rubbed his face with both of his hands. He did this when he was stressed. "I don't want to cause harm to Louis. That's the last thing I would ever want to bestow upon him. But...I feel odd whenever he crosses my mind. A very strange feeling stirs around in my stomach and I feel like it's my mission to get to know him," Harry explained himself.
Liam and Niall exchanged looks before looking back at Harry. That's when Liam spoke up.
"Um...you know what, Harry. We'll help you."
Harry looked at Liam in shock. In all of the years they've known each other, Liam never willingly agreed to help Harry with anything, what with his fear of being hurt by the angered man. "You're...serious?"
"Yeah. Seeing you speak about Louis like this is...mesmerizing and I like seeing you happy, despite of our differences. And Louis is one of the most amazing, beautiful...and challenging boys in the world. And he is everything you need in your life," Liam speaks honestly.
Niall smiled at Liam and gave him a thankful nod.
Harry's lips, ever so slightly, quirked up as he gazed at Liam. "Thanks, mate."
The brown eyed man shrugged his shoulders. "Don't mention it."
Niall decided to jump in. "How about we discuss what we'll try to figure out over some dinner, aye?" Niall offered to the other two boys, which they agreed to.
