Chapter 8 - This Can't Be

You get up and stare at Zacharie "the end? What's that suppose to mean?" You ask, a little distressed.

Zacharie shook his head and smiled under his mask "it's all gonna be fine alright? Let's go, we have some stuff to do and a long way ahead of us to finish"
You sigh and shrug "I guess"

About an hour later you and Zach had cleaned everything. You let out a puff of air and wiped some sweat of your forehead "Welp, now that's done let's take a break shall we?" You ask and the other two agreed.

Behind your back Zacharie nodded towards The Judge and he went ahead. The masked boy walked over and hugged you from behind, "hey puppeteer" he mumbled into your ear. You blushed and giggled at this. "What do you want salesman? Some credit?"

The two of you laughed softly together  for bit and started small talking. Right now the two of you were laying on the ground and looking up at the sky.

"So.. This is all soon over huh?" You asked

"That's right amigo, and I'll follow you back, I promise"

You snickered and smiled "you know, this has been the best couple of days in my life and sometimes I wish this would never end"

"But (Y/N) you have to understand it will have to end someday, nothing stays forever" Zacharie declared.

This made you sad and frown "I guess so" you sighed "well at least you'll be with me forever!" You said with an excited tone.

Zacharie nodded and chuckled softly.

The judge soon walked over and joined in "hello both of you, sorry to interrupt but we should get going"
You and Zacharie got up and started to walk, The Judge on your shoulder.

As the three of you walked, you began to see a big mansion like place.
"Woah.. It looks huge in real life" you mumbled. Zacharie nodded and deep inside sensed something bad was gonna happen, so he looked around just in case.

A wide smile placed on your face as you began to sprint "come on let's get going you slow poke!!" You yelled while running.
Zacharie caught up fast. And you two raced to the entrance.

Darn.. Second place. Zacharie was first to the doors "hehe.. Come on let's head inside and get to the top of the mansion so we can finally get the hell out of here!" He had more life in his voice for the first time, you guess this meant a lot for him to get out.

While walking around inside, you looked around and saw a bunch of creepy photos of a child and a slender like woman and a man beside her, but his face or more like head was scratched off. This was all the same with all the photos "I didn't know it had such creepy photos in here" she mumbled and walked closer to Zacharie.

He didn't answer and only kind of rushed up all the stairs to get to the top, The Judge close behind you who was being dragged by the masked boy.
"Heh! Slow down man!!" You told him and chuckled.
Soon enough you were up. But..

"So finally you three arrive.. I've been waiting, and I don't like waiting"

Zacharie growled "batter... Get away from that switch now.." He warned.

"Or what?" Batter smirked slightly and teased.

The Judge stepped forward "fight me first.."

"My pleasure..." Batter smirked wider. The two stepped forward and did their thing. Zacharie picked you up and had a worried expression "c-come on.. We need to find the way out..." You couldn't see but his eyes were starting to tear up. He started running around trying to find an exit as the others were fighting in the background. All you could hear was Zacharie saying no over and over again.

You hugged him tightly, as he tightened his grip of you. He looked out a window and up to the sky and his heart stopped. There it was, your exit back home...

He grew his wings and spread them, flying through the window and up to the sky as fast as possible. He laughed nervously as the two of you were soon there.

Zacharie froze, but his wings still flapping, keeping you two up in the air.
Zach turned around and saw how everything started turning white, the source from the mansion top.
"No.. No..." You could hear the sadness in his voice.
He quickly turned back and opens the door and set you on the edge of it.
The white sweep of nothing began to take over, getting closer to you, fast.

Zacharie began to cry, he took his mask off and stared into your eyes, you stared back and felt your heart drop.
"(Y/N).. I have never met anyone or anything like you, you have been the best thing to ever happen to me and I know I promised but I can't, just please, I beg you... Never forget about this or me" he sniffed and cupped your cheeks, pulling your face forward to him, your lips colliding. It was a long passionate kiss.
"I love you..." He mumbled before letting you go and pushing you back into the darkness of the other side of the door. The last thing you saw was how he smiled at you, tears rolling down his face and waving. The white liquid took over his body and ripped him to pieces.

Your heart was beating hard and fast as a bright white light blinded you for a moment before it disappeared and you landed on your bed. It was as if nothing of what previously was never happened.
"Z-Zach...Zacharie?.." You mumbled as your eyes filled with tears.
You were back in your room.. Alone.. You began to cry.

You laid down on your bed and cried for a while.

You had fallen asleep but woke up to a scratch on your window... You looked up and saw a cat, wanting to get in, it looked like someone or something you had seen before.. You opened the window and let it in..

It let out a meow and it hit you

"Judge?..."
