(before people comment about it, yes I have my settings where it doesn't capitalize the first word. :) so yeah)

Jades POV

the alarm clock near me started to ring telling me that it's time to get up. today is my first day of senior year in high school and I'm just ready to get it over with.

I turned my alarm off and jumped in the shower. I could stay in the shower forever, but I have to be ready before Lydia and Ethan get up. after my shower I chose to wear skinny jeans, my baggy jacket and my favorite converse. i'm not really the fashionable type if you couldn't tell. after brushing my long and tangled hair and applying light makeup I went to get my loves up.

"Lydia, Ethan. wake up we have to get you ready for school today! it's your first day of kindergarten!"

they both jumped up and ran to get clothes. I'm glad to see that at least they are happy.

as we were sitting down eating breakfast mom walked through the door. great it was a great day until now.

"MOMMMY. your back!" Ethan and Lydia yell happily at their mom.

"yeah yeah kids mommy isn't staying right now I just need to find my old wedding ring so I can sell it and make some more money."

"your going to sell dads ring?" I ask.

"Yeah? he's not here anymore so why do I need it?" mom said walking to her bedroom.

tears started to build up in my eyes, but I had to be strong for the kids.

"umm. so mommy is going away again but she'll be back soon." I lied. I didn't want to make them sad before school.

"okay! can we go to school now? I want to meet my teacher." Ethan asked.

"yeah me too! I think I have a good one!!" Lydia said bouncing up and down.

"hahah okay let me just tell mom were leaving."

I walked into my moms room to find her desperately looking through everything.

"ya know.. if you need money you could just ask uncle John. he is the one that pays our bills." I said

"no no no I just need to find this ring and-"

"MOM DON'T YOU GET IT? I don't want you to sell it. I miss dad and would like to keep anything we can. please."

she pulled the ring out of a black bag

"the sooner you get rid of everything that was his. the sooner you forget and move on. I'm selling the ring." and with that she walked out of the house without a single goodbye.

"so c'mon kids mom said bye and she loves you. lets get you to class!!" faking happiness was easy for me. I've been doing it for a long time.

after the kids got dropped off at school I had to drive right to my school. or as I call it hell hole. I dislike everyone in here and just want to get out so bad.

as I walked into my first class I saw 2 people I dislike already. this should be fun! I took a seat in the very back corner by the window I've learned that teachers don't pick you as much here. as I look around the class I see Brooke and Cody making out by the door. classy. god I hate people.

about Halfway through the class some guy came through the door. he had dark brown hair and green eyes with headphones in.

"uhh sorry I'm late. family problems." the mystery guy said.

"it's fine just please sit down and take the headphones out.. uh what's your name?"

"Derek." he said while sitting down in the only available seat in the front.
