                                Brayden:

The next morning I woke up, I was in a bad mood. My back ached, & I didn't have much sleep last night. It was Saturday, so I could sleep till 1 p.m., which I did.

I got out of bed, & ate breakfast. My dad was at work, & my mom was shopping, so the house was quiet.

For some reason, I can't stand not having any noise. Probably because I was so used to it. It felt weird not having any sounds. Guess I have to wait till mom & dad come back.

I was dressing up, when I saw my present that I was going to give to Kim yesterday---but forgot. I picked it up--it was in a small bag. It costed me quite alot of money, but I didn't care. She was always blue whenever I saw her, I thought this would make her a bit more...happier.

Kim didn't live close to me---she moved to her Aunt's or grandma's, or whatever. I didn't know where that house was, so I called Stephanie, her friend, & asked her.

Stephanie kept drilling me questions on what this was all about---why I wanted to know, et cetera.

"Geez, calm down, Steph," I told her, "I just want to give her a present. For her birthday," I said.

"Which was yesterday," she shot back.

"I know, but I forgot." She wasn't making this easy.

"Look, just give me the address," I said. "Why is it so hard?"

"Fine," Stephanie sighed, & recited it for me.

"Thanks, girl" I said to Stephanie. "I'll see you around," & we both hung up.

I put on some descent cloths, & headed out.

It was a 10 minute drive from here, so I put on the radio, & hummed along with it. When I was little, mom used to sing to me, all the time. Now, since I'm older, she doesn't do that. I don't tell this to nobody, but I still wish that she would do that.

Once I approached my destination, I took her gift, & headed over to her house. I knocked on the door, & she opened.

"Hi--Brayden? What are you doing here?" her face was one big question mark.

I ran my hand through my hair, & replied, "Well, I wanted to give you this yesterday, but, I kinda....forgot."

She looked down at my other hand, which held the present. "Oh...but, how did you get here?"

I thought about Stephanie. "I called Stephanie," I said, simply.

"Stephanie?" Now she was really confused. "You talk to her?"

I shrugged. I guess she didn't tell them.

"Oh, well...thanks for the present." she took it.

I was heading out to my car, when she called me.

"Huh?" I turned around,  to face her.

"Why did you give me this? I mean, we're not...together."

"I thought you needed it," I said. "You seem so in the blues whenever I'm around you." I shrugged again. "Well, see ya," I called, & went into my car.

Kim was watching as I went away. I wonder what she was thought about the present. Did she like it? I hoped. It was something she would  like.
