Y/n's POV:

I set the cauldron aside and also set a timer to remind me when to put the mandrake leaf in. I went to the Herbology greenhouse to ask for a mandrake leaf. Once I get there I see Professor Sprout about to instruct a bunch of second years about how to successfully transplant baby mandrakes. I wait outside as the class stuffs the mandrakes into the pot of dirt and enter once they take their earmuffs off.

"Excuse me, Professor Sprout, but are there any adult mandrakes? I need to clip a leaf from one," you say quietly.

"Okay, Ms. L/n. I will truly miss having you in my class," Sprout says handing you oversized nail clippers. You go in and take one leaf and pocket it, I decided to shove it into my mouth after dinner.

The next month, I kept avoiding Oliver, but Oliver didn't understand.

"Hey, Y/n? Why are you avoiding me?" Oliver asks the day of putting the mandrake leaf into the potion.

"'Ecause 'mm 'oldin 'ah 'eef 'n 'aye 'outh 'nd aye 'ant 'oo 'eak. 'Aye?" I try to respond.

Oliver's POV:

"Are you trying to turn Animagus?" I ask bewildered. She nods and then quickly shakes her head.

"Ease on't 'ell!" Y/n desperately tries to shout at me. She tries again but bursts into tears.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't cry! It'll be okay! I promise!" I hastily try to comfort her, but she just cries more. I see Elizabeth come up with Percy and swore out loud. The last thing I needed was Elizabeth to get mad and Percy to yell at me.

"Come here, Y/n!" Elizabeth calls gently as she beckons Y/n to her side. Y/n shakes her head and presses it into my chest.

"Why's she like this?!" Percy kinda shouts at me. Y/n lets go all of a sudden and disappears into the potions classroom. She then comes out with an iron smelling cauldron and grabs my arm as she pulls me toward Professor McGonagall the whole time crying.

"Ms. L/n! I thought you would be here. You did startle me,"

Professor McGonagall says.

"I have the potion. Should I try it?" Y/n asks wiping her eyes.

"Why is Wood here? He's supposed to be training the team," McGonagall says.

Y/n's POV:

"I want him here," I say quietly.

"Reschedule the practice then," McGonagall says to Oliver.

"I will. Kurn!" Oliver bellowed as a school bard owl flew to his arm. He quickly scribbled down a note and quickly multiplied it by six and hurled it out the classroom window.

"L/N, I want you to take the bonding potion," McGonagall says.

"Wait? Bonding potion?!" I exclaim.

"Yes, that is what you brewed, is it not? Once you take the potion, you will be permanently bonded with the animal. You will be able to turn into it at will. Now take the potion," McGonagall says gently.

"Ok," I say downing the potion. "Absolutely horrible. Tastes like blood."

"Good now feel the animals powers and transform," McGonagall says soothing me.

I close my eyes and feel primal instinct kick in. I open them to find I've shrunk to the size of an average fox. Oliver looks down at me. My tail goes between my hind quarters.

Oliver's POV:

"Is she supposed to look like this?" I ask McGonagall looking at a black fox with dark black eyes.

"Yes," she replies curtly.

"Why is she cowering by the door and scratching and whining at it?" I ask slightly panicking.

"She's an animal, not human," McGonagall says. I reach out to pet her, but she claws at me. I look at her sadly realizing she's not human at all. I hear a pop as she transforms back in to a human.

"I'm sorry Oliver. I wasn't-" Y/n starts but I cut her off with a hug knowing we were in the presence of a professor.
