A quiet Sunday morning in Essex, UK.
"Hey guys! Kate here! I just wanted to do a quick video to talk about something that I'm really pumped about! I have the most exciting news ever! Well... exciting for me at least... Anyways, last week Tony and Blair from TheTonyBlairChannel (*pretend that they are a very popular channel on YouTube that does comedy and other videos*) contacted me! I am literally so excited! I couldn't tell you guys anything before, but now that everything is cleared out and sure, I can finally give you more details! So, I am moving to Las Vegas to work with Tony and Blair on this new comedy programm...thing they've been working on! I can't tell you more about it, but yeah... I just wanted to share these exciting news with you guys and just let you know what I've been up to lately... I've already told you more than I was supposed to tell you hahah... I don't know, I'm so excited about this I can't even think right now! Oh, and look how excited Burrito is! (*Burrito is Kate's puppy*) *Burrito licks Kate's face* Oh, okay, okay Burrito calm down... heh... Ok, thanks for watching all this time guys, seriously, you don't even know how happy it makes me! Ok, I'm wrapping this up before I start crying *fake cries* hahah, ok, byeeee!"
I stop recording and take my camera in my hands to see if everything is okay with the video. Suddently someone rings the bell. I stand up and go over to answer the door.
"Heyyy!" Tom, one of my best friends exclaims
"Hey dude!" I casually say and close the door behind him
"Wow, you're not packed yet?! We're leaving tomorrow morning in case you don't remember..." Tom says sarcasticly and sits down on the ground on some pillows
"I know, I was just filming a quick video..."
Tom is like the brother I never had. Although I met him a year ago we clicked right from the beginning. Him and Amy have been helping me with my videos, they're like my own personal little filming crew! We're all going to be moving to Las Vegas! And we're leaving tomorrow morning! I can't believe I'm finally going to the States and live my dream! All my life I've been living in the same city, Essex, but my dream has always been to live in the US. Actually my parents are from Chicago, both of them, so I was always kind of feeling "close" to the American mentality. All my life I've been dreaming of going to the US, find my own place and just live my life! I just never knew how to do that, but now with my YouTube channel I actually have the chance to! I am so excited to be living on my own in Las Vegas! And I'm going to meet so many new people! I just can't wait!
~Next morning. Around 5am~
"Kate...honey, wake up..." I faintly hear my mom's voice calling
"Mmmpffm"
"No, honey, come on, you don't wanna be late" she insists
"Uhhh..." I try to open my eyes and stand up straigh on my bed. And then I realise.... today's the day! I'm moving to Las Vegas today! I quickly get out of my bed and start preparing myself.
Uh, it's so early, everything's so dark outside still. I quickly grab my bags and the sandwich my mom made me and we all get in the car. My parents are taking me to the airoport. After almost 1h30 we arrive! I didn't even bother making myself look nice. I had put my hair up in a messy bun and had only applied a light coat of foundation and some lipgloss, I'm wearing my glasses cause I didn't had time to put in my contacts. I meet Tom and Amy near the gates and once we go through the whole check-in process, we say goodbye to our parents and wait for our flight to be called out.
It's so weird, even though I'm 20 years old I've never lived by myself. I've never left my parent's house and now it's kinda scary, but mostly exciting!
"Finally!" Amy says under her breath when it's time to get on board.
I just pray that this flight is over quickly cause I'm actually kinda afraid of planes and this is going to be a long flight! Let's just hope it's going to be worth it when we get to Vegas!
