if you didn't know, i lived in zaragosa, spain, for 6 years. yes, i am fluent in spanish. honestly, i wish i could move back.
zaragosa is such a beautiful city. it's full of people who have my sense of living - carefree, traveling often, always having adventures, and working really hard to get what they want. my closest friends were made playing in the streets there, when it was sunny most days and full of loud people. festivals were super common and once i turned 13 (i moved two years ago) i was able to go to the drinking tents with my friends and laugh at the drunk dancing. speaking of dancing, we danced all the time, everywhere, and nobody judged.
the clothing and food is so unique! most people are quite hippie-like in dressware and speech. and spanish is one of my favorite languages to speak. i miss going to the beach every week, getting ice cream with my friends after school every day, having fun playing volleyball, and just....i miss my real home. getting to fly out of madrid and hangout with spanish people (some of my friends from zaragosa, even!!!) makes me feel closer to home...but i wish i was back there for real.
i tag sealinski to talk about what really feels like home to her.
