The Missing Orphan

CH 3 work

As Sophie and Zack walked to their work, Sophie notice the amount of alley ways the walk down was 55 (they took no main roads).

'Zack my man what's up' said the man on the mortar bike

'Hey, I herd you have a job for me.'

'Yeah, who's the doll?'

'Oh this is sofa my co-worker.'

'Well hello sofa may I say you are truly stunning.'

How dare he sofa is my co-worker. He shouldn't be hitting on her!
'Don't talk to sofa like that we are just here for work.'

'Fine, a guy by the name Stan has taken a item from me, I want it back.'

'OK what's the item?'

'A black pearl, the amount I'll pay is $400.'

'OK, what's the address?'

'67 beach road, have fun.'

'Will do.'

Sophie and Zack leave

'$400 wow!' Sophie said

'Yep'

Once the are at 1 beach road Zack stops.

'Here.' He sags while handing Sophie a gun 'make sure no one can see it.'

Sophie shoves it into a pocket on the inside of her hoodie. Now she was worried.

As the approached 67 beach road Sophie could feel her heart beat quickening. They knocked on the door. A strong looking man opened the door.

'Zack what are you doing here, I didn't call saying I have a job for you?"
What Zack gets jobs from this guy too

'I know haven't, I came on a job.'

'Oh? By the way who is the princess?'

He better not hit on her to!
'That is my coworker sofa.'

'Well may I say it is a pleasure to meat you. What's the job you are on Zack?'

'Nice to meet you to sir.' Sophie said quietly
Should I be scared or relaxed?

'See Stan my client had an item taken off him that he would love back, it's a black pearl, you wouldn't know where it is would you?'

'No of course not.'

'Are you sure?'

'Very!'

'OK keep calm, we will leave then.'

Zack and Sophie walked down the street a bit before Sophie said.

'We are not just giving up are we?'

'Of course not.'

They walked for a bit till they were at what looked like the back of Stan's house. They went up to a window, and Zack just opened it.

'See sofa this is why I always keep my windows closed and locked.'

They crawled threw the window, and ended up in Stan's bathroom.

'Oh yuck. It stinks in here.' Sophie said with discussed

'I know one of the down sides of the job.'

'Really what's the other?'

'Most people die on their jobs.'

'What!'

'OK from here on out we will haft to stop talking' whispered Zack

He opened the door just a fraction, and peeked out.

Is she staring at my butt? That can't be right. If it is I can't tell if I am happy or kinda crept out by it. Oh come on I am just living in my fantasy.

They slowly walk down the hall way. And entered a room.

This must be Stan's room.

They started opening draws and boxes trying to find it. They heard the soft tapping of shoes getting closer to the room. Zack grabbed Sophie's arm pulling her into a cupboard. They herd a creak as the door opened. Zack carefully to a peak out of the cupboard to see who was there, it was Stan, he held a little wooden box. Stan placed it on his bed side table then left the room.

Zack and Sophie staid there for a bit just in case he came back. After about 2 minutes Sophie realized how close Zack was. He's chest was right up against hers. She was so great full that, that moment was over when they got out of the cupboard.

Zack grabbed the box and peaked in side to make sure it was what they were looking for. It was.

They took the box back to the man on the bike.

Sophie now had $200.

'That was awesome!'

'And that was just the beginning of is sofa.'

'So do you just get jobs from random people like that?'

'Yep, great isn't it?'

'Very. But don't people hold grudges?'

'No they do see it as turning on them, because they know I was never on their side, it was just another job.'

'Oh, cool.'

At the flat

Sophie walked inside the flat in front of Zack, but frozen when she was just in the door. There was some one sitting on the couch.
