Chapter 6- Near me

When I read the note I was in shock, millions and millions of questions entered to my head. Who is this person? Why they have to kill Mrs. Rodriguez? Why they want me? How did that person know where I was? Is this the person who killed my sister? Was it Mackenzie? Was this murder the reason she wasn't at the fire?

All those questions and others enters to my head. Swimming in circles around my brain. I was getting dizzy, my head was burning, I wanted to throw up, my vision was getting blurry, everything was getting black. I was collapsing. Everyone was shouting to me to know if I was okay. I heard Sapphire screaming to me. "SCARLETT!!!! SCARLETT!! PLEASE STAY WITH ME!!!!!!!" And then, the last thing I heard was Ethan's soft voice saying: "Scarlett, please, stay with me." And then, I fainted.

*IN THE DEEP OF THE FOREST*
"Well done Mackenzie, you killed Mrs. Rodriguez and now she's terrified."
"Of course I did I a great job. After all I'm Mackenzie McHenry."
"Half of my work is done, now is time for you to go."
"What do you mean?"
"You did all you have to do, now you'll go."
"NO! I'm not going anywhere Leo, I just got started!"
"Well, if you don't want to leave, I'll make you go"
"What?"

*Mackenzie's point of view* I saw him pulling something out of his pocket. It was a black thing. I couldn't see what it was because of the darkness of the night but when it was finally out I saw what it was. It was a gun and he was pointing it to my head.

"Leo please, don't do this. You are not capable of this, are you?"
"Dear Mackenzie, I'm capable of doing anything if that means to get Scarlett."
"L-Leo please, don't do this."
"Sorry for saying this but, shooting you right now will make me the happiest person alive."
"LEO PLEASE!! DON'T DO THIS!!!! I'M BEGGING YOU!!!!"
*BANG*
"Oh dear Mackenzie, you should have went back when you have opportunity. Now you're gone forever."

*BACK AT THE CAMP*
I started to open my eyes slowly, I was hearing voices, my vision was blurry. "SCARLETT IS WAKING UP!! ETHAN, JACK, MR. CHANG! SHE'S OPENING HER EYES!!"  Everyone was entering to the room. My vision was clear enough to see who was there. At my left side Sapphire and Jack were standing with tears falling down their fluffy cheeks. In front of me Mr. Chang and the whole class. And in my right side I saw Ethan holding my hand tight in his chest.

Finally I opened my eyes completely and stood up, getting my memories back. I turned my head to the right and waved to Sapphire. "Hi, Sapphi-" Before I could finish my sentence Sapphire hugged me really hard like if there was no tomorrow. "Scar, don't you ever scare me like that again okay?" "Okay. I promise. I love you Sapphi." "I love you too Scar. And don't worry if that f*&@$!g killer tries to get you he/she will have to pass me first." "*sniff*  Thanks Sapphi."
Then she left with the whole class leaving me alone with Ethan and Jack.

Jack took a few steps forward and started to speak. "I'm glad you're okay Scar, you scared the living thing out of me." "It's okay Jack. Thanks for your care and being such a nice friend." Then he left, leaving us alone.

"Oh Scarlett!" Ethan ran to me and hugged me really tight I could barely breathe but it was okay I didn't want to be away from ever again. *sniff*. Could hear Ethan starting to cry. I couldn't see his face but I knew he was glad I was okay. "Oh Ethan, don't cry. I'm okay. I just fainted because of stress. Nothing to worry about." "I know, is just that, that, I can't believe that we were so happy, I finally was enjoying this field trip but this f@&$!g son of a b&$!&h came to ruin everything. And I'm really worried something happens to you. You are the love of my life and I would never let someone touch you." "Thank you Ethan. I'm so lucky to have you." Then we remained there in silence for a couple of minutes and then he asked: "Do you want to sleep with me on my tent? I'm next to Sapphire if you need her." "Y-yeah, I would love to."

I went to sleep with Ethan. His warm and muscular arms wrapped around me made me feel safe. Made the world around us disappear and leave the both us there. I somehow fell asleep. A dreamed about nothing. Just a dark space in my brain. It was empty, cold, dark, it was nothingness. Then Mackenzie popped in the darkness and then she disappeared. Then my parents popped in the darkness then a giant magic hand and took my parents away. After a few minutes the hand appeared again and was pointing to me and I woke up.
