Chapter 4

"Should we be running for the hills right now? Assuming this planet, sorry, moon, has hills." Sara asked cautiously.

"Nah, course not! Where would the fun be in that?"

"The fun would be in staying alive. I'm guessing that's why all those ... Companions? Of yours are gone. After all, who would want to leave this?" Sara motioned to the TARDIS, behind them."I'm not dumb. I know there are risks. So tell me again, why shouldn't we be running for the hills?"

"Because..." The Doctor looked down at the ground, trying to think of a valid reason to give her." Because if we don't, who will? That woman looked scared and frightened and confused. I've seen that look so many times, and I don't think that I could take seeing it, even one more time."

"That's good enough for me, spaceman. I'm not stupid but I know you feel that you need to do this."

"Okay, then. Where to now then?"

"Considering our first clue just walked off?"

"Yes?"

"Then, I think we should find ourselves some more clues."

"I think that as well, allons-y!"

"Oui!"

"You speak french?"

"Your last companions.. They weren't very bright, were they?

The Doctor sighed. This one was different,

But at least she got the saying.

"Come on."

"Alright, Mr. Doctor, sir." She said, laughing, as they started walking down one of the many streets.

"Where are we?" Sara asked, approximately an hour later.

"Hmmm..." The Doctor wondered." Could it be? Trans-dimensional movement?"

"English, doc?"

" Some kind of ... Maze."

"A moving maze?"

"Exactly!" Exclaimed The Doctor.

"So... What do we do?"Sara asked, not wanting to know the answer.

"We get to the middle!"

"Why do I get the feeling that this is going to get us both killed?"Sara asked.

"Doctor... We've been walking for... Hours..." Sara complained, exausted."When are we gonna find this middle of the maze?"

"Soon." The Doctor said, faking confidence.

"Good, where's the TARDIS?"

"Ummmm..."

"Oh no."

"It's all fine!"

"No it's not! We're in the middle of a maze and we've lost the TARDIS."

"At least, it can't get worse?"

"Some help you are" she said, angrily, standing still. " We'll be okay." The Doctor replied.

"What's that?"

" probably you, getting-"

"No... Not me. That." He said, gesturing to a wall.

"Not helpful."

"Neat little dimension diversion. Interesting. Obviously alien tech but..."

"So, we can... Break it?"

"Probably, but I wouldn't-" The Doctor didn't get a chance to finish his sentence, before Sara had hurled herself at the "wall". The wall seemed to shatter as she hit it. Behind it lay the unknown... The Doctor rolled his eyes at her brashness, before following in her wake.
