Jodie followed Wyat up the carpeted stairs. Once they reached the top, he turned into a long hallway, witch was dimly lit. After walking past doors, Wyat finally picked one and opened it. He motioned inside the room.
"Ladies first." Jodie let out a tiny laugh and walked in. His room was a little messy, like hers. There were anime posters on one wall, and a shelf full of books and other little things against the other. After he shut the door behind her, she turned to him and spoke.
"Nice room."
"Thanks. What do you wanna do?" He gestured to the whole room. Jodie shrugged. Wyat then got a look on his face that indicated he had an idea. "Hey, do you like ghosts?" He smirked. Jodie looked at him, confused. Why was he asking her this? What would she say?
"Sure." She shrugged. He walked over to his bed and leaned over, pulling something out from under it. Jodie soon realized that what he pulled out......was a ouija board. She gasped, a little excited. "Woah! You actually have one of those?!" Wyat blushed a bit.
"Yep! Wanna try it?" She nodded, grinning. He sat it down on the floor and turned off the light, lighting a few candles. He placed the eye of the ouija on the board, and put his two index fingers on it. Jodie did the same. Together, they spelled the word "hello."
"Spirits, we speak to you know with the highest of respects." He began. "If there is a spirit in the room with us, will you tell us what your name is?" The eye began to move. Both of them made a surprised expression. "Jodie, stop moving it!" Wyat sounded a little concerned.
"Im not!" Jodie insisted. The eye moved over letter after letter, spelling the word, "Joshua."
"Joshua? Hello, my name is Wyat and this is Jodie." Jodie could feel something cold on her shoulder. She turned around, and saw a whitish figure. She jumped, scooting away from that area. "What is it?! What's wrong?!" Wyat now sounded terrified. Jodie panted. The figure now looked more human. It was a male about her age, with brown hair, a white cotton shirt, and what looked like farmers over alls. The spirit seemed to be missing an eye. He looked at Jodie, and gasped. The spirit sat down next to her and moved the eye over letters, spelling the sentence, "can the girl see me?" None of the two kids were touching the moving eye. Wyat jumped.
"Oh my god!" He panted. Jodie stayed somewhat calm.
"Yes, I can see you." Joshua looked at her, surprised. He was still sitting next to her. The time came when he finally spoke.
"C-Can you hear me?" She nodded.
"Loud and clear." She replied. Wyat was huddled in a corner.
"W-Who are you talking to?!" Jodie looked at her. She now realized that she never told him that she was one of the whispered to.
"Joshua...." She held up the eye of the ouija to Wyat's eye. He looked through. He screamed.
