The last thing I hear is my brother's grunt and his thoughts at that moment. "Priam", and that's it.
Now I'm kneeling next to him. My face is above his. I'm not cold anymore, and even if I were I'd still have done the same thing. I take off my shirt and tie it around Alec's stomach to stop the bleeding. But the wound is too deep and he's not answering, not even in my mind.
I'm mentally breaking down.
I get close to his chest trying to hear his heartbeat and it's still there. But it's way slower than how it should be.
Lux. I need his healing powers.
I look at him and he walks forward. I'm holding Alec's hand but I sit aside. Lux kneels and holds his arms out, putting his hands on Alec's chest. He starts muttering something and I'm feeling the energy flow back in. The wound on his neck is starting to close but the blood is still flowing on my shirt. Lux's powers are not helping. The wound... Is too deep.'Alec, you can do this.'
His hand is cold. Lux is still muttering and sweat is drenching his forehead. Umbra just walked close with a knob of herbs. She untied the shirt which was around Alec's stomach, lifted his shirt. There's blood everywhere. I can't look at this.
I need to think of something. I need to save my brother.
'Priam? What's happening?'
I immediately turn and face Alec but his eyes are still closed. Lux is shouting something out. But I don't focus on what he's saying.'Alec. You're going to make it, okay?'
'It's too late, Priam. I've already lost alot of blood.'
'Yes but Lux is doing all he can to -'
"Aren't you, Lux?" I turn my face and look at him. His hands are on his knees. His eyes are closed.
"We're losing him. It's only a matter of seconds now. My powers are exhausted. They're not working."And that's where it knocks me. I stand up so rapidly I almost fall back down.
'No, Priam, stay by my side. Don't let go.'
'I got this.'
I put my hand to my pocket and take what I was looking for out of it.
There they are, the three vials containing the powers I need.
I first take Lux's and open it.
A yellow light shoots up towards the sky. I'm filled with warmth, energy, peace. But I'm focusing on Alec. That power should head to Alec. I close my eyes and ball my hands to fists, and I press hard, feeling my nails drive through the palm of my hand, bloodying it. Alec. Alec. And there it is.
The yellow light shoots back down and targets Alec's chest. It's all channeled towards Alec's chest that now he's almost glowing yellow. His blood is starting to flow back in. His face is finding color. His wounds are closing, replaced by scars. Yet when Lux's healing powers have done their job, Alec still doesn't move. He doesn't wake up. And I had expected that. So I take his own vial and open it up. The same thing happens again, but the light is white. It is illuminating the black sky and filling me with Alec's smell, Alec's voice, Alec's thoughts. And that's what I needed. Alec's presence. It's heading towards his chest which is now also glowing white. He's lifting off the ground, his arms dangling. But now his position is changing. He's changing from a sleeping position to a standing one, and his feet touch the ground again. Then the light fades out.
And he opens his eyes.
I let the vials fall to the ground and jump at him. He's holding me so tight, pressing me against his chest. A few seconds late and Alec would be...'Get these thoughts out of your head.'
'Promise me that from now on we'll always be sticking together.'
