Tori
Minutes later cop cars surrounded the area as well as an ambulance. I sat frozen from fear in the car. I wanted so badly to make sure Jackson was ok but I could not move. I don't even think I blinked. Even when a knock on my window sounded beside me I only moved my arm to unlock the car. I continued to stare straight ahead.
"Mam, are you alright? Sweetie step out of the car. We're here to help." A paramedic tried urging me out. I felt numb though; paralyzed. She reached I and guided me out. I remembered how to use my legs and walked with her as I stared at the ground. The lady led me to the back of the ambulance and wrapped a blanket around my shivering body. It was a cold night.
"Ok sweetheart I'm gonna need you to look up. We need to make sure your body isn't going into shock." I did as the paramedic told and they shined a bright light into my empty eyes. She then took my pulse and asked me a series of questions regarding health issues. My eyes saw another cop car pull up to the scene, the sheriff is here. He stepped out and started shouting out instructions.
"Paul, let's get this area locked up." He yelled to a deputy who nodded frantically and began taping the area with yellow police tape.
"Tori?" I heard someone yell frantically. Someone who I knew very well. Stiles Stilinski. The sound of his voice brought me out of numb state and I snapped my head up to meet his beautiful brown eyes.
"Stiles?" I softly yelled out, my voice cracking at the dryness in my throat. He looked relieved and ran up to me grabbing my face in his hands and looking over me to make sure I was alright.
"Are you hurt? Is she hurt?" He asked me first then turned and yelled to the paramedics who assisted me. They all murmured no but that he should keep his voice down due to the sensitive hearing I now had because of the fear and shock.
"Hi Miss. Martin, I just need to ask you a few questions. Stiles give us a minute." One of the deputies said walking over to us and taking out a notepad. Stiles looked at me wearily then started to walk away when I grabbed his hand stopping him.
"No stay. Let Stiles stay. I need him right now. He won't say a word I promise." I begged the deputy who sighed and gave in. I let out a deep breath in relief.
"Ok, so what were you doing while everything happened in the store?" The deputy asked.
"I was actually texting Stiles." I told him glancing at Stiles who nodded.
"Ok, what was it exactly you saw?" He told me. I froze up as the image of the creature popped into my head. "Miss. Martin?" He asked again.
"Tori you ok?" Stiles asked stepping closer towards me.
"Um, y-yeah I'm alright. I'm just shaken up. It was a-a mountain lion." I told the deputy. It had to be a mountain lion.
"Ok I think that is all I need. Thank you." The deputy said smiling once before walking off.
"Why the hell cant I just go home? I'm fine." I heard Jackson snap. I looked over and saw him talking to Stiles' dad.
"I hear ya, but the EMT says you hit your head pretty hard. They just wanna make sure you don't have a concussion." Sheriff Stilinski told Jackson who continued to whine like a baby.
"What part of 'I'm fine' are you having trouble grasping? Ok, I wanna go home." He yelled making me annoyed. I turned to Stiles who was glaring at Jackson.
"He's such an ass. I feel numb inside at the moment and I still feel annoyance and hatred towards this asshole." I mumbled. Stiles sighed and wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his chest. I wrapped my arms around Stiles' waist and cuddled into him needing the comfort.
Suddenly he froze up and I heard his heart rate pick up from laying on his chest. "Oh, woah, is that a dead body?" He yelled. I pulled away from him and saw the body he was talking about and covered my mouth with my hand.
"Everybody back up, back up." The sheriff said calmly. He then walked over to his son and I. "Miss. Martin, how are you holding up?"
"I'm...I can't say I'm fine because I'm not. But I'm not not fine, you know what I mean." I asked him as I tried to figure out my own emotions.
"Completely. Now how about I get someone to drive you two back to the station and Stiles can get you home safely ok? Is that alright?" He asked. Making me nod my head frantically.
"Yeah that's fine. I just need to get away from here." I told him making him smile understandingly at me. He then yelled to a deputy to take us home. We hopped in the police cruiser and made our way the the station.
"Goodnight you two. Feel better Miss. Martin" he said waving at us before driving away once we reached the station.
"Come on let's get you home." Stiles muttered quietly as he lead me to his Jeep. He helped me inside then drove off towards my house.
"Thank you Stiles" I whispered.
"Anytime beautiful" he replied winking. I giggled slightly and leaned over giving him a quick peck before racing inside.

The next morning I woke up to see both Lydia and my mother crowding around my bed with worried looks. "What's wrong?" I asked them.
"We're just worried. You don't have to go to school today sweetheart. Lydia said she's going to collect your work." My mom told me placing a hand on my forehead. I nodded and sighed.
"Feel better sis, I need to go or I'll be late but I'm not going to leave your side when I arrive home from school" Lydia promised leaning down and giving me a huge hug.
"Bye Lyd, see you when you get home" I mumbled in her shoulder. She gave me one last worried glance before rushing out of the door. My mom sighed and turned to face me. She pulled out a pill bottle and held it up.
"Here, take a couple of these. It'll help to ease your nerves." She told me smiling softly. I nodded and popped two of them in my mouth and drank some water to get them down.
"Thanks mom" I muttered laying back down planning on sleeping. These pills worked fast. I was feeling pretty loopy. I felt my eyes close as I heard the door shut quietly signaling my mother left.
