Chapter Two

Arianna's head had just hit the pillow when her mom came in. She was expecting her mom to be apologizing like usual but this time, she burst in holding a bag that was bulging at the seems.

"Get up! Get dressed! We need to go NOW!" Her mom shouted practically dragging her out of bed. "Someone is on their way to get you and they will be here soon."

Arianna's had never seen her mom act like this let alone in the middle of the night. She was so stunned that she did didn't even argue. She just did as she was told.

After she was dressed she went out to the living room where her mom was talking to a strange boy.

The boy seemed normal enough, but, as she looked at his curly mess of hair, was she saw two small bumps that look like they could be horns.

"Mom what is going on? Who is that?" she asked tentitevly. That was when the boy stood up.

"Look, Arianna, we don't have time to explain now but I will. Right now we need to go. All you need to know is that I am taking you somewhere safe. The only place that's safe. Come on. Your mom already packed your bags."

He started to lead her towards the door but she planted her feet. Something nagged at the back of her mind. Then it hit her. Something she had read.

"Your a satyr. Aren't you? That means... That means I'm a demi god. Right?" She didn't know for sure but she loved those stories and one can hope. "But those old stories arent real."

"You would be surprised what is and isn't real when it comes down to it." The boy replied. He was trying to pull her towards the door again.

"But you never answered my question. Am I or am I not a demigod?" She was yelling now. She didn't know what was going on and nobody seemed intent on telling her. But his answer just scared her.

"We dont know what you are."
