After much more arguing, yelling, cheese whiz, and a few ping pong balls being thrown, they finally agreed that Arianna had to find these people and make peace with them before there was war.

It did not help the debate that Mr  D got recalled to Olympus in the middle of the arguement.

In the end, it was decided that Arianna would go to Brooklyn to find these people. She was to take two companions with her. Since The Oracle isn't working, they were to go without a prophecy.

This, apparently was unheard of but, desperate times call for desperate measures.

But she still didn't know who she was travelling with.

"Can I take Tom?" Everyone turned to her. She had barely said a word this whole time.

Some of the teens started grumbling but Chiron silenced them. "It is her choice, we do not want to send her on this mission in particular without people she knows and trusts. However, you must chose another companion."

She immediately turned to Annabeth. Sure Arianna didn't know her that well but she seemed nice. Annabeth however, shook her head

"Sorry. I've got to stay and look for my boyfriend."

That statement didn't make much sense to Ariann a but she shrugged. "Ok. But I don't know anyone. Are you sure I should lead this quest? I don't even know what I am! How am I supposed to make sense of this?"

Nobody answered.

That scared her. Until then, someone had opposed nearly everything she said. Now, when she was claiming to be incapable,  nobody argued. Finally, Chiron spoke up.

"Arianna, you must do this because they already think your are one of them. Considering they tried to kill Tom, he would not have been my first choice, but, it is your right to chose. I would suggest you chose a more experienced camper for your second companion."

She took a moment to consider this. She was about to ask who he had in mind when he spoke up again.

"Tonight we will have a campfire. There we will make the formal announcement and ask for a volunteer. Someone is bound to step up."  He suggested. All Arianna could do was nod.

Back at cabin eleven, she found a spot and plopped down.

She wasn't sure what to make of everything that had been happening to her over the past week. She had been basically kicked out of her own home. She had travelled all the way from Alberta to Long Island done in seven days. And now it was all catching up with her.

The worst part was bothering her the most was that being a half Blood meant that one of her parents wasn't her real parent. She could figure out who. She knew it was probably her dad because there were pregnancy pictures of her mom hung up all over the place at their house.

She had always felt closer to her dad though. He was the one who taught her to do everything. She couldn't imagine having a better dad for the most part.

Except when her parents fought. Those were the times she had began to love reading. She could pretend away her situation just by getting lost in a book.

The other thing she was thinking about was Tom. She didn't know why she had lied to him about nothing strange ever happening to her. Something weird was always happening to her.

She had never been expelled from school before. You couldn't get expelled from school in Canada unless you did somthing really bad but she figured she had come pretty close. Most of the teachers at school hated her. The others pitted her. All the students ignored her.

She was always stuck with a T.A.  because she had trouble reading. It wasn't officially dyslexia but she does have a few symptoms. In other words, she could read, but she couldn't focus unless it was somthing that really interested her.

That meant she was always  labeled stupid or weird. She had only one friend and it had always been an on again off again kind of friendship.

She couldn't think of anything overly weird that had happened to her until the day that Tom showed up.

Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She got up and marched straight out of the cabin. She was going to talk to Tom.

She found him playing volleyball with a few other satyrs and pulled him aside.

"Tom, I've been given as quest and I was wondering if you would go with me."

"Ya! Of course! Why not?"

"It's just, we're going to Brooklyn."

"With the messed up Hecate kids?? No WAY!!!! They are crazy and kept calling me a monster! I will NOT go back there. I refuse."

"Please Tom. I need someone I know on this quest. Your the only person - Well, you know what I mean- that I know. Please."

Tom looked at her for a moment like he was trying to weigh his options. "Fine! I'll do it."

"Yes, yes, YES!!!!" She screamed so loud the satyrs started playing volleyball stopped and looked at her.  "Thank you Tom!!"

Supper was as uneventful as it could be given the scenario. The campfire, however, was anything but.

After Chiron made the announcement of the quest, there was endless number of protests that, Arianna was ashamed to say, we're not without good reason.

She didn't have any training
She wasn't the most experienced or the fastest or the strongest or the smartest.  Nobody knew if she was trust worthy. She didn't even have a prophecy.

The only thing she has going for her was that she had done a few cool tricks that she had no control over.

Why on earth would or should they send her.

When Chiron asked for volunteers to go, nobody stood up. Nobody said anything. Not one person.

She could basically feel the potty coming from some cabins, while others, like the what she assumed was the Ares cabin, snickered and whispered to each other.

Just when Arianna was sure the quest would be called off, a young boy who look around seven or eight stood up from the Hephaestus cabin.

"I'll go." He said with a wide grin.

"No Harley. You can't go. Your too young for this particular quest. It will be very dangerous. Besides, I think you have some stuff you're working on here don't you?" Chiron asked in a 'Sit- down-and- shut- up' tone.

Harley, looking very put out, plopped down on the bench again.

"Will no one else volunteer?" Chiron asked challengingly.

A scrawny boy from the Ares cabin stood up. "Fine! If no one else will go, I will. Why not?"

And so the quest began.
